Job DescriptionJob Title: Indirect Buyer Job Description The Indirect Buyer plays a critical role in supporting the procurement of materials, equipment, and services that enable the successful build and launch of advanced aerospace hardware. This position partners closely with engineering, manufacturing, and finance teams to ensure timely, accurate, and cost-effective purchasing activities. The role focuses on indirect and IT-related procurement and leverages ERP systems to manage purchase orders, invoices, and supplier relationships in alignment with a mission-driven, innovative manufacturing environment. Responsibilities • Process purchase requests into accurate and timely purchase orders using ERP systems, ensuring data integrity and compliance with internal procedures., • Convert internal procurement requirements into clear and complete requests for quotation (RFQs) and purchase orders (POs)., • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, finance, and other internal stakeholders to understand procurement needs and translate them into effective sourcing actions., • Negotiate pricing, lead times, and commercial terms with suppliers to optimize value, reduce total cost of ownership, and support business objectives., • Manage and maintain strong supplier relationships under the guidance of Category Managers to ensure consistent quality, reliability, and service levels., • Monitor order status and proactively resolve procurement issues throughout the lifecycle of an order, including invoice discrepancies, delivery delays, and quantity or quality variances., • Support invoice management and cleanup activities to ensure accurate billing, timely payment, and alignment between purchase orders, receipts, and invoices., • Contribute to strategic sourcing initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve procurement processes, consolidate suppliers, and reduce costs., • Use ERP and related tools to track purchasing activity, maintain accurate records, and generate reports as needed for internal stakeholders., • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to continuously improve procurement workflows and support operational efficiency in a manufacturing environment.Essential Skills, • 3+ years of purchasing experience within IT or indirect procurement, preferably supporting complex or technology-focused operations., • 3+ years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment., • Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Odoo, or NetSuite for purchase order creation and management., • Proficiency in purchase order creation and lifecycle management, including requisition conversion, approvals, and order tracking., • Experience with invoice management, including resolving discrepancies and coordinating with finance teams., • Strong negotiation skills, including the ability to negotiate pricing, lead times, and commercial terms with suppliers., • Solid understanding of procurement and general supply chain principles, including sourcing, ordering, and supplier management., • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reporting, and tracking procurement activities., • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate clearly with internal stakeholders and suppliers., • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple purchase requests and orders simultaneously.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience supporting IT or indirect categories such as software, hardware, services, and other non-production spend., • Background working with Category Managers or strategic sourcing teams to execute category strategies., • Familiarity with aerospace, high-tech, or advanced manufacturing environments., • Ability to identify process improvement opportunities within procurement and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives., • Comfort working with multiple ERP platforms (SAP, Oracle, Odoo, NetSuite) and adapting to new systems and tools.Work Environment This role operates within a manufacturing environment located in Long Beach. The position supports a fast-paced, innovative production setting focused on advanced aerospace hardware and additive manufacturing. You will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and finance teams and rely heavily on ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Odoo, or NetSuite, as well as Microsoft Excel, to manage purchasing activities. The environment emphasizes collaboration, problem-solving, and continuous improvement, with frequent interaction across departments and with external suppliers. The role may involve working around active manufacturing operations, equipment, and materials, requiring adherence to site safety protocols and standard workplace attire appropriate for a production facility. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Long Beach, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $48.00/hr.
