Job Description Job Title: Medical Staff Coordinator Location: Houston, TX 77030 Shift: Day Shift Duration: 2 months (8 Weeks) Pay rate: $24.00 - $27.00 an hour on W2 Position Summary: The Medical Staff Coordinator provides administrative support and coordination in alignment with the Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules & Regulations, and policies of Hospital. This role supports the organized medical staff, credentialing, and privileging processes to ensure compliance with hospital, legal, and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities: • Coordinate and process all aspects of credentialing and privileging for medical staff., • Ensure full compliance with Medical Staff Bylaws, Joint Commission, NCQA, and other accreditation standards., • Serve as a key resource for Chiefs of Service, Department Heads, Credentials Committee, Medical Executive Committee, Governing Board, and Legal Department regarding credentialing matters., • Manage a range of activities including:, • Initial and reappointment applications, • Changes in privileges, service, or staff status, • Temporary privileges and leave of absence, • Managed care credentialing and related administrative tasks, • Maintain accurate documentation and correspondence throughout the credentialing process. Required Skills & Qualifications: • Strong understanding of hospital operations, medical staff governance, and medical terminology., • Knowledge of accreditation standards related to credentialing and privileging., • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills., • Demonstrated reliability, self-motivation, attention to detail, and discretion., • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to frequent interruptions., • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and credentialing/privileging database systems., • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality at all times. Education & Experience: • Required: High School Diploma or equivalent., • Preferred: Associate degree., • Preferred Certifications:, • CPMSM – Certified Professional in Medical Services Management, • CPCS – Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist, • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in administrative, secretarial, or customer service roles; prior experience in a medical staff office strongly preferred.
