This position is located at our Salmon Creek Clinic. The Psychiatric Provider Aide supports Psychiatric prescribers in administrative and clinical areas. This position also works with Mental Health Therapists and Chemical Dependency Professionals in coordinating care to ensure continuity of care for clients. The Psychiatric Provider Aide provides screenings and case management in coordination with other teams or parties involved in treatment. Candidate participates actively as a team member in the delivery of client services, and the coordination of community support services. Assists in insuring agency compliance with WAC's, RCW's, and other pertinent laws, regulations, and contracts. Duties and Responsibilities: • Follows Universal Precautions against biohazard contamination during blood drawing, handling, preservation and transportation of body fluids, keeping area clean and disinfected, disposing of contaminated material in proper containers, using personal protective equipment (PPE)., • Observe and follow the OSHA safety and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA Privacy) regulations., • Greetings the patients., • Communicates well with the patients to make sure they are kept calm and still., • Identifies patient with name and DOB, labels tubes and follow proper timing of collection as needed with high attention to detail to ensure patient’s address is correct., • Collects human fluids, blood specimens by venipuncture and capillary from patients using proper collection tubes for tests ordered. Gives clearly instructions to the patients., • Verify for proper tests order in Electronic Health Records (EHR), • Follows written policies and procedure for a comprehensive quality assurance program and quality control procedures, providing and assuring accurate and reliable test results and quality reports., • Maintain appropriate documentation of temperature; preventive maintenance activities; method procedures; quality control; and quality assurance., • Follows the Policies and Procedures Laboratory Manual, Safety and infection control procedures., • Maintains constant contact with providers and nurses for patient care., • Restock reagents and requests replacement supplies from referral lab for specimen collection and transport. Verify reagent’s expiration dates., • Requires by HIPAA to protect the privacy and security of the Personal Health Information to which you have access and follow OSHA and CLIA regulations., • Prepares room for the patient., • Prepares the patient with cape, drape sheet or other supplies needed to maintain modesty and dignity., • Applies electrodes, operates EKG machine according to manufacturer’s instructions to obtain proper tracings., • Identifies patient by name and DOB and register in the monitor. Labels tracing as required and consults with provider if any unusual circumstances affect the test., • Responsible for the maintenance and storage of the equipment., • Responsible to work with the manufacturer for equipment troubleshooting., • Run the calibration of the equipment every 24 hrs or day of use., • Prepare the patient and testing following the manufactures’ instruction and laboratory Policies and Procedure Manual., • Report accurate results to a licensed provider., • Responsible for the maintenance and storage of the equipment., • Verify for ordering test in EHR., • Blood draw patients and follow instructions for specimen processing., • Process specimens according the reference lab guidelines., • Tracking and review tests results in EHR every day., • Active Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist (MA-P) certification from the Washington State Department of Health required., • High School diploma or GED., • Graduation from an accredited phlebotomy training program., • A minimum of one year experience in a hospital or clinic setting is desired., • CPR/BLS certification required. MAJOR DUTIES: The Crisis MHP works under the supervision of the Program Director. This position provides behavioral health services to individuals at the Crisis Stabilization and Triage Center. This position provides clinical services to agency patients. The Crisis MHP will be responsible for providing specialized crisis intervention and short-term intervention services to adults and older adults experiencing an acute behavioral health crisis, with the goal of crisis stabilization within the least restrictive setting. In fulfilling these duties, the incumbent performs the following duties independently: • Review Washington Administrative Codes (WACs) and Revised Codes (RCWs) and Federal regulations pertaining to behavioral health treatment to ensure compliance with these regulations in all therapeutic services., • Provides a welcoming environment for new participants., • Provides basic recovery support services and documents services provided using recovery focused language., • Ensures completion of designated mental health assessment for all participants, • Determines a provisional diagnosis, obtains documentation of medical necessity, and submits authorizations for service., • Complete reauthorizations, as needed., • Develops an individualized service plan and recovery solution in partnership with participant and peer specialist., • Acts as an advocate for the needs and rights of every person., • Will work as part of a treatment team., • Conducts groups, as designated by the program’s schedule., • Assists in completing admission to the Center including:, • Orientation to the program, including an introduction to staff, tour of the facility, individual rights and grievances, program schedule, and community agreements., • Assisting participants with shower and clean up using proper infection control procedures., • Reviewing and storing personal property., • Partners with each participant to maintain a recovery environment by performing tasks including, but not limited to:, • Room Checks., • Removes any hazardous objects and records findings as designated., • Helps participants manage any risky behavior and completes required documentation., • Implements contraband policy., • Maintain complete and up to date clinical files that document all services and contacts provided consistent with the requirements of WAC 246-341., • Assures incident reports are initiated and completed according to agency policy., • Supports and implements agency policies and procedures., • Ability to maintain a positive, solution-focused demeanor when responding to conflicts or problems., • Participate in verbal de-escalation and interventions in emergent situations and be willing to assist other team members as needed to maintain a safe and secure environment., • Networks within the community to identify outside agencies and services available to help individuals meet their needs., • Support and implement agency policies and procedures., • Other duties as assigned. GUIDELINES This position requires that the incumbent meet all educational and supervised postgraduate experience requirements for a Mental Health Professional as defined in WAC 246-341. COMPLEXITY The incumbent provides individual therapy, group therapy, case management and diagnostic services to individuals who differ widely in age and socioeconomic status and who may possess a variety of chronic and serious social, behavioral and psychological problems. Strong clinical skills, sound judgment, and creativity are required to help implement and deliver treatment services that will meet the complex needs of the individuals. PERSONAL CONTACTS Contacts are with members of the treatment team, individuals, significant others and family members, representatives of various community agencies specializing in the treatment of behavioral health and crisis, and related community representatives including hospital personnel, lawyers, probation officers, and other court officials. All personal contacts are carried out in accordance with federal and state laws dealing with the confidentiality of individual records. PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the essential functions of the job, the incumbent is regularly required to sit, speak clearly, hear and use hands and fingers to manipulate writing utensils and keys on a keyboard.
