This leader serves as the organizational owner of college readiness, career readiness, postsecondary planning, workforce development, industry credentialing, university partnerships, student opportunity access, and long-term postsecondary success. Beginning in Grade 7, the Assistant Principal of College & Career Success develops systems that help students discover their interests, explore future possibilities, build meaningful experiences, and successfully navigate pathways toward college, career training, workforce opportunities, military service, entrepreneurship, and other postsecondary options. The Assistant Principal of College & Career Success is responsible for building a comprehensive Grades 7–12 pathway model that connects academic success with real-world opportunities. This leader works closely with school leaders, guidance counselors, families, colleges, universities, employers, community organizations, and workforce partners to ensure students graduate with both the credentials and the confidence needed to thrive in their chosen path. Key Responsibilities The Assistant Principal of College & Career Success serves as the organizational leader responsible for ensuring every student in Grades 7–12 graduates with a clear, actionable postsecondary pathway. This role leads Educational Solutions' college readiness, career readiness, workforce development, and opportunity access efforts while building strong partnerships that expand possibilities for students and families. Success in this role requires strong relationship-building, strategic leadership, and a deep commitment to ensuring every student is prepared for success in college, career, military service, entrepreneurship, or other postsecondary opportunities.College & Career Success Strategy & Leadership The Assistant Principal of College & Career Success serves as the organizational leader for all college, career, and postsecondary readiness efforts across Grades 7–12.Develop and lead Educational Solutions' Grades 7–12 College & Career Success strategy and vision.Establish annual goals, metrics, and success indicators related to postsecondary readiness and student outcomes.Create and oversee a comprehensive pathway model that prepares students for college, workforce, military, entrepreneurial, and credential-based opportunities.Ensure alignment between academic programming, student aspirations, workforce needs, and postsecondary opportunities.Lead continuous improvement efforts focused on increasing postsecondary success outcomes across the organization.Postsecondary Readiness, Advising & Graduation Planning The Assistant Principal of College & Career Success ensures every student develops, maintains, and annually updates a personalized graduation and postsecondary success plan beginning in Grade 8 and continuing through graduation. This leader oversees the systems, milestones, supports, and accountability structures necessary to ensure students remain on track academically while preparing for college, career, workforce, military, entrepreneurial, and other postsecondary opportunities.Develop and oversee Educational Solutions' Individual Graduation & Postsecondary Success Planning process for all students in Grades 8–12.Ensure every student creates a personalized graduation and postsecondary success plan in Grade 8, with annual reviews, goal-setting, and updates through Grade 12.Partner with Guidance Counselors, Principals, teachers, and families to ensure students remain on track toward graduation and their postsecondary goals.Monitor and track student progress toward graduation requirements, pathway milestones, credential attainment, college and career readiness indicators, and postsecondary planning benchmarks.Ensure all graduating students complete a documented, actionable, and supported postsecondary success plan aligned to their interests, strengths, and aspirations.College Access & Postsecondary Success The Assistant Principal leads efforts related to college awareness, college access, enrollment, and long-term postsecondary success.Develop and oversee college readiness programming across Grades 7–12.Support students through college exploration, applications, admissions, financial aid, FAFSA completion, scholarship applications, and enrollment processes.Organize college visits, university fairs, admissions workshops, and student exposure opportunities.Build systems to support students through the transition from high school to college.Track college application, acceptance, enrollment, persistence, and completion outcomes.Career Readiness, Workforce Development & Industry Credentials The Assistant Principal develops meaningful workforce and career-connected learning opportunities for students.Create and manage career exploration experiences beginning in middle school.Develop internship, job shadowing, apprenticeship, mentorship, and work-based learning opportunities.Expand access to workforce certifications, industry credentials, and career pathway programs.Build relationships with employers and workforce development organizations.Ensure students gain exposure to high-demand industries and career opportunities.College Credit Plus (CCP), Early College & Advanced Opportunities The Assistant Principal oversees advanced academic and dual enrollment opportunities.Lead Educational Solutions' College Credit Plus strategy and implementation.Develop partnerships with colleges and universities to expand dual enrollment opportunities.Increase student participation in early college, dual credit, advanced coursework, and enrichment programs.Ensure students and families understand available academic acceleration pathways.Monitor participation and outcomes related to advanced learning opportunities.Opportunity Access & Student Exposure The Assistant Principal ensures all students have meaningful access to opportunities that broaden their horizons and expand future possibilities.Develop systems that provide students with exposure to colleges, careers, industry professionals, and leadership opportunities.Coordinate educational trips, career fairs, university visits, conferences, summer programs, and enrichment opportunities.Expand access to scholarships, fellowships, competitions, leadership programs, and external learning experiences.Ensure equitable access to opportunities for all students, regardless of background or circumstance.Build a culture where students are encouraged to dream boldly and pursue ambitious goals.Student Wellness & Safety The Assistant Principal supports student well-being and ensures appropriate responses to student needs impacting learning and engagement.Provide short-term counseling and guidance to support students navigating academic, behavioral, or personal challengesFollow all school and state protocols related to crisis response, safety planning, and mandatory reportingCoordinate referrals to internal and external service providers when additional support is neededMaintain confidentiality and ensure all student information is handled in compliance with FERPA and school policiesHigh School EMIS, Postsecondary Reporting & ComplianceThe Assistant Principal of College & Career Success ensures the accuracy, compliance, and integrity of high school student data related to graduation, postsecondary readiness, career pathways, College Credit Plus participation, industry credentials, and other state reporting requirements. This leader partners closely with school leaders, registrars, counselors, and organizational leadership to ensure student records are accurate, compliant, and aligned with Ohio Department of Education requirements.Maintain oversight of student records, graduation pathway documentation, and postsecondary readiness data to support accurate EMIS reporting and state compliance requirements.Partner with school leaders, registrars, counselors, and organizational staff to ensure student information related to graduation requirements, pathway completion, College Credit Plus participation, industry credentials, and postsecondary readiness indicators is accurate and complete.Monitor and verify student data associated with graduation seals, diploma requirements, career pathway completion, workforce credentials, and postsecondary readiness benchmarks.Support EMIS reporting processes related to high school students, including enrollment status, graduation cohort tracking, credential attainment, CCP participation, and graduation outcomes.Conduct regular audits of transcripts, graduation plans, pathway documentation, and student records to ensure accuracy and compliance.Maintain documentation required for state reporting, compliance reviews, audits, and accountability measures.Utilize student data systems and reporting tools to monitor graduation readiness, pathway completion, and postsecondary outcomes while identifying potential compliance concerns and corrective actions.Collaborate with organizational and school-based teams to ensure all graduation, pathway, and postsecondary data remains accurate, audit-ready, and aligned with Ohio Department of Education requirements.Student Support Systems & Data-Driven Intervention The Assistant Principal builds and maintains structured systems that ensure students receive timely academic and social-emotional support.Build strong relationships with students so that every student feels supported, valued, and responsible for understanding and improving long-term student success beyond graduation.Develop systems to track graduates' postsecondary enrollment, persistence, completion, credential attainment, and workforce outcomes.Maintain relationships with alumni and create opportunities for alumni engagement.Utilize alumni outcome data to strengthen pathway programming and student support
