This individual assumes primary responsibility for establishing the house routing; for orchestrating all house activities; for ensuring that the house itself is kept clean and in good repair; for ensuring that each resident attends all scheduled programs and appointments; for ensuring that all medications are ordered and refilled as necessary and for establishing the tone of the house. Counting all controlled medications ensuring each resident has enough and there are none misplaced/missing; Any medication sheet which shows a five day supply or less should initiate re-order or the doctor should be asked to “call in” a new prescription if no additional refills are available.; making sure all residents are taking prescriptions as prescribed; checking to make sure all residents are prepared to attend regularly scheduled activities as well as medical or clinic appointments; make sure all medications and dosages for each resident are up to date in system., 2. Job Description The Unaccompanied Children Program provides long term and transitional residential care and other supportive services to Unaccompanied Children (UC) who are under legal custody of the Federal Government. Working in collaboration with the federal Office of Refugee Resettlement, ORR, our program provides a safe and nurturing environment for youth in a Basic Shelter program located at our licensed residential facilities as well as a Transitional Foster Care program in foster homes in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens and Westchester. Operating out of Kings County Criminal Court and community-based offices, BJI is a team of social service providers, court-based resource coordinators, mental health practitioners, compliance specialists, and others who seek to improve the quality of justice. Supervised Release offers an alternative to jail by providing pretrial supervision, case management, and voluntary social services to people charged with misdemeanor and felony offenses, and in doing so, uses an arrest as a window of opportunity to change the direction of a participant’s life, avoiding the harmful effects of incarceration. Program participants are monitored to ensure their appearance at court dates and mandatory programming, and receive referrals to services like job training, drug treatment, and mental health counseling. BJI seeks Night Clinical Intake Specialists for the borough’s Supervised Release Program (SRP). Reporting to the Night Clinical Intake Coordinator, Clinical Intake Specialists will leverage social work or mental health training and direct practice experience to facilitate participants’ successful transition into SRP. Clinical Intake Specialists will conduct a comprehensive needs assessment; connect participants with an appropriate case manager, focusing on participant needs and individual case manager skills and strengths; generate mandatory programming recommendations, and refer candidates to services with community-based service providers. Additionally, this position will provide de-escalation and emergency intervention within the courthouse, as needed.
