Job DescriptionDescription: AMR Management Services is excited to offer a rewarding career opportunity for a full-time remote Executive Director to join our team of association professionals. The Executive Director is responsible for carrying out the plans, goals, objectives, and directives of the assigned association(s) within the scope of the AMR annual contract (workplan). The Executive Director will provide the leadership and direction necessary to sustain the growth of AMR and their assigned association(s). The ideal candidate should possess a strong executive presence and excellent project management skills, while also embodying AMR’s core values and effectively fulfilling the key responsibilities outlined below. Major Responsibilities: Executive Leadership/Strategic Planning: • Ensure all programs, activities, and services needed to fulfill the Annual Workplan of the assigned association are performed to meet AMR’s contractual obligations., • Support the Board and volunteer leaders in fulfilling their responsibilities in leading the association., • Forecast conditions, assesses member needs, and allocates resources appropriately., • Develop annual and long-range strategic goals and lead efforts to execute and meet strategic goals., • Inform manager and/or client leadership of matters or developments that warrant attention., • Serve as the main point of contact between the AMR client team and Board., • Manage staff resources allocated to association(s) and monitor budgeted time vs. actual. Inform manager of any concerns., • In accordance with AMR procedures and timelines, oversee the development of the annual workplan., • Develop, follow, and maintain association(s) policy and operating procedures., • Conduct quarterly feedback and development conversations with direct reports, • Serve as a mentor and coach to AMR team members – direct reports and indirect reports assigned to the client(s)., • Remain current on best practices and standards in the association industry and the marketplace to take advantage of short and long-term opportunities., • Provide regular client updates to Board and AMR Executive Team.· Manage projects and facilitate team communication with the utilization of Basecamp., • File annual report with Secretary of State’s office., • Develop annual budget for internal and external review and input., • Analyze monthly finance report and prepare summary memo, • Ensure all revenues and expenses are in alignment with established budgets, noting variances when needed., • Provide requested information to support 990 tax return and audit/financial review., • Develop and maintain positive relationships externally between AMR and Board, between the association and key stakeholders, between the account team and shared services and with association leadership and members., • Draft and send business communications to the Board, members, stakeholders, etc., as needed., • Identify and support efforts to create value for members, sponsors, etc. Requirements: Are you Qualified? • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Management, or related field of study preferred., • 5+ years of association management experience, with at least three years in Deputy Director or Executive Director position., • Prior Medical Association experience a plus, • Demonstrated success in overall management of a membership-based organization., • CAE certification a plus, • Attention to detail, balanced with big-picture perspective; ability to prioritize and deliver multiple objectives simultaneously., • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including strong oral and written communication skills., • Self-motivated to find and offer solutions to problems., • Leadership and management skills, • Knowledge of leadership and management principles related to nonprofits including those specific to association management companies, • Proven success working with a board of directors, • Creative problem-solving and continuous improvement skills, • Enthusiastic and dynamic team member, • Balance providing quality service with managing client as a business, • Proficient in Microsoft 365/SharePoint., • Strong business, math, and analytical skills., • Experience working in a remote setting and managing remote teams and staff,, • Flexibility to accommodate the schedules of association leaders AMR is dedicated to fostering a work environment that balances a relaxed atmosphere with focused work, providing our employees with challenging opportunities for personal and professional growth while maintaining a healthy life balance. • Core Values: Embrace our values of Success Together, Casual but Focused on Results, Positive Workplace, Flexible, Ownership, Get Stuff Done, Lifelong Learning, and Transparent and Inclusive., • Positive Culture: Be part of a casual but results-driven workplace., • Remote Work: Work from home, • Flexible Schedules: Options for half-day Fridays., • Generous PTO: 5 weeks of paid time off., • Holidays: 14 paid holidays, including time off between Christmas and New Year's., • Parental Leave: Paid leave for new parents., • Comprehensive Coverage: Health, dental, vision, life, and disability, plus a 401k plan., • Team Events: Enjoy virtual team activities.
