Job DescriptionJob Title: Mechanical Assembler – Weekend 1st Shift Job Description This role focuses on assembling large cooling units and related mechanical components on a weekend day shift. You will use hand and power tools, work with metal framing and tubing, follow diagrams and visual aids, and perform detailed, repetitive assembly and inspection tasks in a clean, temperature-controlled manufacturing environment. Hands-on training is provided, and the position offers strong opportunities for growth within the company. Responsibilities • Assemble large cooling units using hand and power tools in a manufacturing environment., • Work with metal framing, copper and metal tubing, and perform drilling and piping tasks as required., • Follow written instructions, diagrams, graphs, schematics, and visual aids to complete standardized and repetitive assembly operations., • Manually assemble inserted components according to visual aids, verifying specifications before and during assembly., • Perform labeling and other basic production tasks associated with mechanical assembly., • Inspect assembled parts and components to ensure assembly is performed correctly and meets quality standards., • Conduct visual inspections to identify defects or assembly issues and make basic adjustments or repairs as needed., • Utilize manual lifting devices and participate in heavy lifting using team lifts when required., • Apply basic mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot simple assembly issues and ensure proper fit and function of components., • Collaborate with leads and team members by following directions accurately and communicating any issues that arise during assembly., • Maintain a clean and organized work area in alignment with site cleanliness and safety expectations., • Adhere to all shift, attendance, and timekeeping requirements to remain eligible for additional weekend shift pay.Essential Skills, • Previous assembly experience in a manufacturing environment., • Ideal background of 1+ year in detailed mechanical assembly., • Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively., • Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort working with metal framing, copper and metal tubing, and drilling operations., • Ability to read and understand visual aids, graphs, diagrams, and basic blueprints or schematics., • Capability to perform basic, standardized, and repetitive assembly and labeling operations with consistency and accuracy., • Strong attention to detail for visual inspection and quality checks of assembled parts., • Ability to follow written and verbal directions from leads and work instructions., • Physical ability to use manual lifting devices and participate in heavy lifting with team lifts., • Basic troubleshooting skills for simple mechanical or assembly issues.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Electrical knowledge is a plus., • Experience with mechanical assembly, production, repair, and troubleshooting is highly beneficial., • Comfort working on an assembly line with repetitive tasks., • Familiarity with reading and working from blueprints is strongly preferred., • Stable and consistent work history with verifiable references., • Availability to work the weekend 1st shift schedule: Friday–Sunday, 6:00 a.m.–6:30 p.m., • Understanding and acceptance of attendance requirements tied to eligibility for additional weekend shift pay., • Steel toe shoes are required for this role., • No additional certifications are required.Why Work Here? The role is on a weekend 1st shift schedule, Friday through Sunday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., with specific attendance expectations tied to eligibility for additional weekend shift pay. The facility offers amenities such as a break room and a recreation center, and ride-share options support commuting. You use hand and power tools, manual lifting devices, and standard assembly line equipment. Steel toe shoes are required as part of the dress code, and no additional certifications are needed to work in this environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Memphis, TN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.30 - $25.30/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
