Job Description SUMMARY OF POSITION: The Lead Production Associate, I is responsible for ensuring that all mailing jobs are assembled successfully and on time, according to customer requirements and company standard operating procedures, as well as coordinating with all Operations Departments to manage critical timelines during monthly peak production schedules. Essential Tasks and Duties: • Prepares for production run by reviewing job docket instructions; ensures knowledge of details, • Performs basic, intermediate, and advanced machine set-up and operation for self and others, • Performs camera system set-up, operation; troubleshoots in order to determine the cause(s) of and prevent machine malfunctions, • Performs quality checks, camera pulls, and handles machine diverts; checks diverts and other pulled pieces for any damage to the print/insert runs and ensures integrity in all diverted materials, • Reconciles and balances job docket for accuracy; confirms quantities; ensures materials are properly inserted, • Follows Mailing Department Standard Operating Procedures; ensures consistent, uniform processes for enhanced performance and customer satisfaction, • Responsible and accountable for providing second signoff on operator documents, jobs and damages., • Able to identify special client requests; to act on those instructions accordingly, and to communicate the results of those actions., • Embraces technology and procedural changes and implements into the daily process., • Actively uses the ETA Board to identify missing/late files; confirm drop dates and to proactively escalate issues or concerns to the appropriate department., • Communicates throughout the day with operators about upcoming work; production challenges, special requests., • Embraces technology and procedural changes; shares a positive outlook with coworkers when changes occur., • Demonstrates understanding of equipment and processes to the extent that they are able to train other employees on the points above., • Communicates throughout the day with the management team about upcoming work; production challenges, special requests. Leadership Responsibilities: • Supports Mailing Supervisor; schedules the work load; meets project deadlines, • Recommends changes to improve efficiency and reduce cost, • Demonstrates leadership qualities; motivates the team to meet production objectives, • Creates a positive working environment for all operators; provides encouragement and motivation., • Consistently demonstrates professionalism in demeanor conversations with employees., • Recognizes opportunities with operational downtime. Actively seeks to provide additional work or direct labor effort to the most appropriate department to achieve shift goals., • Seeks opportunities from their Supervisor / Manager to develop their skills and those of the operators in their department., • Able to effectively communicate across department lines to facilitate the operations objectives on behalf of the client., • Provides accurate and detailed communication to off shift personnel in support of the operation., • Supports other Mailing Operators with training, support and basic maintenance of all mailing equipment responsibilities, • Able to act as front- line support for equipment basic maintenance and training., • Conducts training sessions with operators; ensures safety guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures are followed, • Demonstrates leadership qualities; motivates the team to meet production objectives demonstrates a collegial, supportive approach, • Fosters a positive working environment; provides encouragement and motivation for the team, • Recognizes opportunities with operational downtime. Actively seeks to provide additional work or direct labor effort to the most appropriate department to achieve shift goals., • Able to effectively communicate with third party vendors to resolve equipment issues facilitate the operations objectives., • Provides accurate and detailed communication to off shift personnel and technical support in support of the operation. Other Duties as Required: • Performs other Mailing Department related job tasks, • Helps and assists other Operation’s divisions with their job tasks when available; demonstrates a collegial, supportive approach Education and Development: • High School Diploma or GED required Experience and Skills: • Prior experience and training with InfoIMAGE, • Excellent attention to details; highly organized and procedural in thought process, • Must demonstrate positive leadership qualities, • Able to maintain a calm demeanor during peak production periods and stressful situations, • Able to work and add to a collaborative environment, • Proficient in Microsoft application, • Excellent verbal and written communication in a clear, concise manner Physical Requirements: • Multi-limb and eye-hand coordination, • Able to stand, bend, reach, stoop and lift boxes up to 50 lbs., • Able to lift and move boxes and materials 50% of work day, • Able to walk and stand for a full work day, • Able to work in a fast pace environment / multi-tasking with organization and efficiency, • Able to work overtime as needed, • Able to travel locally, • Possesses a valid driver’s license and is insurable 2nd Shift: 1:00 PM - 9:30 PM CST, Monday - Friday Overtime/Month-End: 3:00 AM - 3:30 PM CST
