Job Offer : Industrial Operations Intern (Sourcing, Traceability & Internal Tools) Location: Paris, France Start Date: As soon as possible Position: Internship , Full-time About Generare At Generare, we’re reopening one of humanity’s most powerful sources of innovation: the natural evolved chemistry of microbes. We’ve built a discovery engine that blends synthetic biology, computational biology, and automation to explore the vast 97% of microbial natural products that remain undiscovered, and to turn that hidden diversity into a rapidly growing library of truly novel bioactive molecules. The platform is already running at industrial scale, revealing new scaffolds and modes of action faster than any other approach, and unlocking fresh routes to tackle antimicrobial resistance, cancer, parasitic diseases, and major agricultural needs. Generare was created in 2023 from the landmark work of Dr. Vincent Libis and is scaling fast. We’re 20 brilliant people in the heart of Paris today, growing rapidly next year, and building the team that will bring nature’s molecular library to the next wave of medicines and sustainable crop protection. Role Overview Soil is the fuel of our discovery engine. Everything starts with soil samples containing microbial strains and those strains may encode the next generation of drugs or bioactive products. We’re looking for an intern to work in a hand in hand hybrid role with the team to structure and scale the sourcing of soil samples across France / territories, and progressively expand sourcing opportunities in Europe. On another side, you will work with Bioinformatics to boost tracking of strains and samples, clearly identify where molecules and strains originate throughout the pipeline. In addition, You will help us develop and enhance the Generare internal tools by contributing to feature definition, testing, and development support. Key Responsibilities • Support and help scale the soil sourcing program (planning, tracking, follow-up)., • Help recruit, onboard, and coordinate a network of freelance samplers., • Contribute to simple no/low-code tools to manage the sampler community and sourcing workflow., • Analyze sourcing data to identify the most valuable soils and define where to source next., • Help identify and engage relevant sourcing partners (academia, private collections, local networks)., • Support administrative steps and permit submissions when sourcing outside France is needed., • Contribute to basic traceability/provenance tracking so we can link strains and molecules back to their origin samples., • Support improvements of internal operational tools (sourcing platforms and other related tools). Requirements • Education: Internship level in operations, supply chain, biotech-related fields, computer science, or similar., • Mindset: Highly motivated, curious, proactive, and able to work independently, • Communication: Clear, concise communicator; comfortable documenting processes in French and English, • Organization: Very structured, reliable, and detail-oriented in follow-up and reporting, • Field/ops appetite: Enjoys practical execution, coordination, and real-world operational problem-solving, • Digital comfort: Good with spreadsheets, structured data entry, and basic reporting tools, • Development logic: Comfortable with basic coding concepts and software logic; eager to learn and contribute, • Technical bonus: Any experience with low-code tools, scripting, or product/testing support is a strong plus, • Adaptability: Comfortable in a fast-moving startup environment with evolving priorities Why Join Us? This internship is a chance to work on a unique field-to-lab discovery engine, where your work directly fuels the pipeline. You’ll gain hands-on experience in a biotech startup, learn how sourcing and traceability support discovery at scale, and contribute to real tools we use internally every day. You’ll work closely with Industrial Operations, Bioinformatics, and lab teams, with strong exposure to decision-making and fast learning opportunities.
