This is a rare and challenging opportunity for a talented Senior / Principal / Associate level Fire Engineer to join Gibraltar’s leading building services consultancy as their new Principal Fire Engineer. They are now ready to expand their offerings within the building safety and fire engineering space - and that’s where you come in. The new Fire Engineering service will work closely with their existing M&E / sustainability services, to deliver comprehensive, interdisciplinary solutions. The role You will be providing technical fire engineering advice on a range of building types at design, construction and in occupation phases. Your responsibilities will include: • Take a lead role in developing and growing the firm’s fire engineering capability, • Fire impact and optimisation analysis, • Design and specification of fire protection systems, • Produce fire strategy documents and fire safety management plans for new and existing buildings, • Advise on fire safety measures at design and construction stages, • Provide technical advice on safe building occupancy levels, fire evacuation plans etc., • Visit project/construction sites to advise on the installation or implementation of the designs, • Provide strategic industry insights and leadership Key skills and experience required: • A degree or professional diploma in fire engineering, fire safety engineering or equivalent, • At least 5 years post-graduate work experience in a fire engineering consultancy role, • Excellent understanding of UK fire safety legislation and standards, • Membership of the Institution of Fire Engineers or Institute for Fire Safety Managers - desirable, • Significant experience of implementing fire engineering solutions in a range of settings, • Excellent knowledge of the current and emerging fire safety legislation framework, • Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for innovation and growth Could this be the next chapter of your career??
