£6,000 tax-free working-away allowance Free company accommodation (bills included) Challenging civil engineering projects across Scotland Established major civil engineering group You will be responsible for the day-to-day management and delivery of civil engineering projects on site, ensuring works are completed safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Working closely with the Project Manager, you will provide strong site leadership, coordinate resources, and maintain effective relationships with clients, subcontractors, and key stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Site Operations & Delivery Manage daily site activities to ensure project programmes, cost targets, and productivity requirements are met. Monitor project progress and report on performance, identifying risks and opportunities and implementing mitigation measures. Plan and coordinate labour, plant, materials, and subcontractors to maintain efficient site operations and avoid delays. Produce, manage, and update construction programmes, assessing cost and value throughout the project lifecycle. Support and, where required, deputise for the Project Manager, providing effective leadership and decision-making on site. Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ) Take full responsibility for health, safety, environmental, and quality performance on site, ensuring compliance with legislation, contractual requirements, and company procedures. Promote a strong safety-first culture and drive continuous improvement across all site activities. Manage day-to-day quality control, ensuring works are delivered in accordance with specifications, drawings, and best practice. Maintain accurate site records including RAMS, permits, authorisations, toolbox talks, site diaries, personnel records, and quality documentation in line with the Quality Management Plan. Stakeholder & Team Management Build and maintain strong professional relationships with clients, subcontractors, statutory authorities, and internal departments. Chair and attend site meetings as required, providing clear progress updates and addressing issues proactively. Act as the main point of contact on site in the absence of the Project Manager. Support and mentor site engineers and supervisors, contributing to effective team performance and development. Manage day-to-day site relations and address any issues promptly and professionally. What You’ll Bring Solid post-graduate experience within the civil engineering industry. Third-level qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline. Proven experience managing civil engineering works on site. Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and contract documentation. Experience producing and managing construction programmes. Working knowledge of NEC contracts. Full UK driving licence. Valid CSR/CSCS qualification (or equivalent). Desirable Working towards professional membership (e.g. ICE or CIOB). NEBOSH qualification. Experience delivering marine or coastal projects. Working knowledge of CAD and/or BIM.
