Design & Engineering • Develop and review electrical and instrumentation design deliverables, including:, • Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), • Cable Block Diagrams and Routing Layouts, • Instrument Loop Diagrams, Hook-Up Drawings, and Wiring Schematics, • Lighting, Earthing, and Power Distribution layouts, • I/O lists and Cause & Effect Diagrams, • Perform load calculations, voltage drop, and short-circuit analysis., • Design control and automation systems, integrating PLCs, DCS, and SCADA systems for offshore applications., • Ensure designs meet applicable codes and standards (e.g., IEC, ATEX, API, BS, NORSOK)., • Prepare and update Bill of Materials (BOMs) and equipment specifications. 2. Technical Documentation • Prepare and review technical datasheets, specifications, and material requisitions for electrical and instrumentation equipment (motors, transformers, MCCs, transmitters, analyzers, control panels, etc.)., • Support the development of Functional Design Specifications (FDS) and Control Narratives., • Review and approve vendor documentation (drawings, test procedures, GA drawings)., • Maintain document control and revision tracking in alignment with project procedures. 3. Interface & Coordination • Coordinate with process, mechanical, piping, and structural disciplines to ensure seamless integration of E&I systems., • Interface with vendors, third-party inspectors, and clients to resolve technical queries (TQs) and ensure compliance. My client is a US based software company, operating into the media and entertainment sector, due to their ongoing success, they are looking for a Senior QA Engineer, based in the UK. This will be working on their existing solutions but mainly focusing on the development and testing of an exciting new product. The company is around 5 years old and during that time it has successfully implemented its software in three of the UK’s major broadcasters. They are looking for a Senior QA Engineer with 3-5 years’ experience with manual and automation testing, with knowledge of the Cypress automation tool, this will be a remote position, working into UK and European clients. They require someone that is self-motivated, to work with minimal day to day instruction, able to identify issues throughout the product development lifecycle, with a view to reducing the number of bugs, while developing effective test plans. You will have experience with the following • 1+ years hands-on experience in Web and API testing, • Test automation experience with Cypress is essential with exposure to WebdriverI0, TestCafe or similar automation tools, • Complete understanding of HTTP and REST APIs, • Experience working in Jira, Confluence, Figma, Swagger A background working with content delivery in the media, broadcast or entertainment sector, is essential, and an understanding of scheduling or windowing would be an advantage, coupled with excellent communications skills, as this is a remote role. Key Responsibilities • Lead the Testing Roadmap: Take full ownership of the end-to-end testing roadmap, including functional, SIT, regression, performance, and UAT/business testing., • Develop and Review Strategies: Create test strategies and plans for integration, non-functional testing, performance, and UAT. You'll also review and approve test strategies and plans submitted by third-party partners., • Manage Test Environments: Define requirements for and contribute to the setup of test environments., • Set Standards: Define and enforce testing best practices for both internal and external teams, covering everything from documentation and methods to tool usage., • Ensure Quality Gates: Maintain control over code releases into testing and staging environments by building a strict quality gate process into the release management workflow., • Team Leadership: Manage Test Leads, assigning responsibilities, and providing guidance throughout the testing lifecycle. Required Skills and Experience: • At least 3 years of proven experience managing test teams and activities in a large-scale ERP environment., • Experience with the full lifecycle implementation of an ERP system, including Functional Testing, Smoke testing, System Integration Testing (SIT), Performance Testing, and UAT., • Demonstrated knowledge of key testing cycles such as Functional, SIT, Performance, and UAT, including test approaches, planning, and methodologies related to ERP systems., • Proficiency in using Azure DevOps to manage, track, and report on key test cycles., • A strong understanding of ERP product solutions and architecture., • Proven experience managing all phases of testing in both agile and waterfall environments., • Experience defining test strategies and plans, and coordinating test resources, including subject matter experts and end-users., • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage business and technical stakeholders and explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences., • Willingness to be hands-on and produce test cases, with experience coordinating teams of business users to write and execute test scripts., • Experience in test management for integrations using tools., • Knowledge of or experience with test management tools., • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail., • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to build relationships and influence individuals at all levels of the organisation.
