Senior Mechanical Contracts Manager - Plymouth About the Role We are recruiting for a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Contracts Manager to take a leading role in delivering the mechanical elements of multimillion pound flagship project in Plymouth. This is a senior position within a Tier 1 contractor environment, where you’ll oversee mechanical packages from planning through to handover, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery. Key Responsibilities • Lead all mechanical aspects of a major MEP project, ensuring budgets, quality, and deadlines are met., • Develop and manage detailed project programmes, coordinating with other disciplines and subcontractors., • Monitor resources, labour, plant, and materials to optimise efficiency., • Ensure full health & safety compliance across all mechanical operations., • Conduct quality checks and audits to meet industry and client standards., • Provide financial oversight including cost reporting, forecasting, and subcontractor management., • Act as a key client liaison, building strong relationships and providing regular progress updates., • Lead, mentor, and motivate project teams including engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors. About You • Circa 10+ years’ experience in mechanical engineering and project management, ideally on large-scale MEP projects., • Previous healthcare project experience desirable., • Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts (NEC3/NEC4)., • Excellent leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills., • Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management experience., • Detail-focused, with a proven ability to deliver to the highest compliance and technical standards. Qualifications • NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering Services (minimum)., • City & Guilds 6188 – Heating and Ventilating (Industrial & Commercial Systems)., • CSCS Card – Managerial/Professionally Qualified., • SSSTS or SMSTS is essential, • Additional qualifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or NEC contract training are advantageous.
