Technical Manager – Electronics Test House This is a key leadership role responsible for managing the engineering function, supporting production performance, and maintaining high standards within a controlled ESD test environment. The Role: • Lead, develop, and mentor the engineering team, • Oversee engineering activity across the full ESD test process, • Ensure ESD protocols and cleanroom standards are maintained, • Drive process improvements to improve efficiency, quality, and yield, • Support equipment performance, maintenance planning, and troubleshooting, • Work closely with Operations, Quality, and Senior Leadership, • Manage project timelines, resources, and technical priorities, • Promote a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement What my client is looking for: • Experience managing engineering teams within a semiconductor or high-tech test/manufacturing environment, • Strong understanding of ESD-controlled or cleanroom environments, • Proven leadership and problem-solving capability, • Experience supporting production, manufacturing, or equipment engineering, • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-standards environment The real nuts and bolts of the role : For this role, it is important that you have a strong understanding of testing and fixturing, alongside experience in design, circuit development, testing, and report writing. Should you progress to interview stage, you will be expected to discuss and demonstrate your experience in these areas: • A balanced background across both test and design within electronics (semiconductor experience is advantageous but not essential), • A genuine interest in electronics, supported by a strong academic background (ideally a degree from a recognised university), • Hands-on, practical experience at component level, including testing and design, • Exposure to or experience in management or project responsibility Additionally, the successful candidate will: • Demonstrate the ability to understand a broad range of electronic devices and their applications, • Have knowledge of, or willingness to learn, testing methodologies such as HBM, CDM, LU, and TLP, • Possess an understanding of electronics PCB / Semiconductor design processes and back-end activities such as assembly and testing, • Show strong analytical thinking, curiosity, and the ability to quickly grasp new concepts with minimal supervision, • Be comfortable working across multiple disciplines including mathematics, computer systems, communications, electronics (hardware and software), manufacturing, and testing Desirable: • Engineering degree (or equivalent experience), • Background in semiconductor fabrication, assembly, or testing, • Knowledge of quality standards and process control This represents an excellent career opportunity for an ambitious and proactive engineering leader seeking long-term progression within a well established, successful and growing business.
