Job Description: Summary: The Head of Care and Business Development plays a pivotal role in leading the delivery, development, and strategic growth of our home care services across Scotland. This position combines operational leadership with business development, ensuring high-quality, person-centered care provision while driving sustainable growth through new business opportunities, partnerships, and service innovation. The role is responsible for overseeing service quality, regulatory compliance, team leadership, and the expansion of services through both public contracts (via Health and Social Care Partnerships) and private client acquisition. Care Leadership & Operational Oversight • Provide strategic leadership and oversight of all home care operations, ensuring delivery of high-quality, safe, person-centered services., • Ensure compliance with Care Inspectorate standards, Scottish Government guidance, and relevant legislation (e.g., Health and Social Care Standards)., • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, embedding best practices across services., • Identify and pursue opportunities for growth, including responding to tenders from Health and Social Care Partnerships and developing innovative service offerings both in the public and private sector, • Contribute to the organisation’s strategic direction as part of the senior leadership team., • Work collaboratively with finance, HR, marketing, and compliance teams to support business and service objectives., • Develop and manage annual business plans and budgets for care services and growth activity. Requirements: • Significant senior leadership experience in health or social care, ideally in a domiciliary/home care setting., • Strong understanding of Scottish social care structures, particularly the role of Health and Social Care Partnerships., • Proven track record in service development, contract acquisition (e.g., public tenders), and growth strategy., • Excellent knowledge of regulatory frameworks including the Care Inspectorate and Health and Social Care Standards., • Strong commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, performance, and contracts., • Ability to build and lead high-performing teams across multiple sites., • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills., • Commitment to person-centered, rights-based care., • A relevant care or management qualification (e.g., SVQ 4/5, RMA, Registered Manager Award)
