    DAY CARER / SUPPORT WORKER REQUIRED – DURHAM AREA We are looking for a kind, reliable and compassionate Day Carer/Support Worker to support a family member with severe epilepsy and complex care needs. This is a rewarding one-to-one role supporting a lovely young woman within a caring family environment. We are seeking someone calm, dependable and genuinely committed to improving another person's quality of life. Hours * Initially approximately 20 hours per week * Flexible working arrangements may be considered * Opportunity for additional hours in the future The role may suit: * An experienced carer or support worker * Someone with experience of epilepsy or complex care needs * A nursing, healthcare or SEND student * Anyone who is naturally caring, responsible and willing to learn Duties may include: * Providing day-to-day support and companionship * Assisting with routines, activities and appointments * Monitoring wellbeing and seizure activity * Supporting safety, comfort and independence throughout the day * Accompanying to community activities and events Requirements: * Full driving licence essential * Previous care experience preferred but not essential * Experience with epilepsy would be advantageous * Training and ongoing support will be provided for the right candidate We are employing directly as a family rather than through an agency and are hoping to find someone local to the Durham area. There is a potential opportunity for 1–2 temporary staff members to transition into a part-time permanent role upon completion of the temporary contract, contingent on performance, reliability, and future work availability. Main Duties: • Cleaning student bedrooms, kitchens, bathrooms, hallways, and communal areas, • Performing deep cleaning tasks after tenants have moved out, • Dusting, vacuuming, mopping, wiping surfaces, and sanitising areas, • Removing rubbish and ensuring areas remain tidy, • Reporting any damage, maintenance issues, or missing items, • Working efficiently to meet cleaning deadlines, • Adhering to company standards and health & safety requirements Requirements: • Previous cleaning experience is preferred but not essential, • Must be reliable, punctual, and hardworking, • Possess good attention to detail, • Able to work independently and as part of a team, • Flexible with working days and hours during busy periods, • Must be able to travel to the work location
