This is an exciting opportunity for two Development Officers who would like to support us to work with communities organisations and partners to deliver our Physical Activity Framework and support our vision of Leicestershire Leicester & Rutland: a place where physical activity is part of daily life leading to people living healthier and happier lives. About the Role/(s) - 1 x Physical Activity & Health Focus 1 x Pre and Post Natal Physical Activity Focus Postholders would work on projects (although not a definitive list): • Developing a universal and targeted approach to raise physical activity in low participating groups and settings., • Raise awareness of the health and wellbeing benefits of physical activity to partners settings and communities., • Supporting wider sector professionals and groups to embed physical activity into their settings/programmes/policies and have conversations about the benefits of physical activity., • Support the development and delivery of relevant local and national physical activity campaigns/programmes to reduce inactivity and increase participation., • Encouraging everyone to embed regular informal physical activity opportunities into their daily lives., • Address the equality diversity and inclusion challenges that are prevalent in physical activity provision. Post 1: Physical Activity & Health This post will focus on increasing opportunities to embed physical activity advice and guidance within the health system and work with communities to tackle inequalities linked to participation to both increase activity levels and improve the health and wellbeing of our residents. Post 2: Pre and Post Natal Activity Focus This post will lead on developing and delivering a programme linked to pre and post natal physical activity and maternal mental health with the aim to engage and empower pre and post natal women to move more. Candidates should state on their supporting statement regarding their preferred post or both.
