Job Title: Field Operations Transition Programme Manager (Data Centre) Job Description This role leads the transition of new data centres from build and commissioning into steady-state operations. You will act as the single point of contact between engineering, construction, commissioning and operations teams, ensuring that new facilities are delivered safely, efficiently and in a way that supports reliable long-term operation. The position is remote, with occasional travel to a data centre site in Dublin, and offers the opportunity to work on large-scale, cutting-edge infrastructure projects within a complex global environment. Responsibilities Act as the single point of contact between engineering, construction, commissioning and operations teams to transition new data centres into live operations. Plan, coordinate and oversee all activities required to hand over new data centres to the operations team, from early project stages through to final close out. Partner with internal and external stakeholders throughout the full project lifecycle, from site selection to project completion, to ensure operational requirements are understood and met. Maintain clear communication and strong collaboration across all phases of a new data centre build, ensuring alignment between technical, construction and operational teams. Coordinate construction activities that may impact live data centre environments, ensuring risks are identified, mitigated and managed to protect ongoing operations. Attend design review meetings and proactively highlight operational concerns, ensuring that design decisions support safe and efficient long-term operation. Support engineering teams by facilitating inquiries that require input from operations, ensuring timely and accurate responses. Capture and share lessons learned from previous projects for consideration and mitigation in current and future builds. Identify equipment quality issues during build and commissioning, and hold responsible parties accountable for remediation and corrective actions. Support the onboarding of operations teams for new greenfield sites, ensuring they receive the information, training and documentation needed to run the facility. Build detailed functional knowledge of each site by attending key project phases, developing an in-depth understanding of systems and documenting a comprehensive risk register. Support site mobilisation by coordinating the procurement of spares, tools and consumables required for operational readiness. Perform site acceptance activities, including civil, structural and architectural (CSA) walks, beneficial use inspections and turnover walks, to verify that systems are ready for operations. Engage with third-party maintenance suppliers to set up contracts and agreements that support ongoing maintenance and reliability. Review turnover documentation such as operation and maintenance manuals, as-built and record drawings, permits, certificates and warranty documents to ensure completeness and accuracy. Participate in turnover issue meetings and provide clear input on the impact of open issues or deviations on operations if they are accepted. Use project management practices to track progress, manage risks and issues, and ensure that transition milestones are delivered on time and to the required standard. Essential Skills High school diploma or equivalent. At least 2+ years experience delivering server and network deployment projects in large-scale environments, or 3+ years experience supporting IT equipment or related technology. Proven experience in project management within construction, data centre or related technical environments. Strong working knowledge of physical data centre infrastructure and technology, including key systems and components. Understanding of data centre construction and commissioning processes, including terminology and documentation. Ability to coordinate and manage activities that interface with live data centre operations, with a strong focus on risk management and operational continuity. Competence in acting as a single point of contact between multiple technical and operational stakeholders. Ability to analyse complex problems, develop practical solutions and communicate plans and findings clearly to internal customers and stakeholders. Ability to travel occasionally to a data centre site in Dublin Additional Skills & Qualifications At least three years experience working with collaboration platforms such as SharePoint and Microsoft Teams. At least two years experience with reporting and data analytics platforms such as Power BI. Knowledge of design, construction and commissioning techniques, terminology and documentation within data centre or similar environments. Practical experience with building management systems (BMS), automation systems, controls and related frameworks. experience working in or around live data centres, with an understanding of operational constraints and risks. Background in data centre environments, including exposure to construction and commissioning activities. Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and stakeholders. Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document risks, issues and lessons learned effectively. experience engaging and managing third-party maintenance suppliers, including contract and agreement setup.
