Job description A Product Manager is responsible for ensuring that a product is of high quality and delivers value. They collaborate with teams to identify, implement, and refine strategies and tactics related to their products. Additionally, they may be involved in recruiting and managing personnel within the product team, ensuring they hire the right individuals that are supported, and developed. This is an exciting opportunity to join HMRC's CDIO Chief Digital Product Office (CDPO) within the Response, Exceptions & Analytics Team, which manages HMRC's IT for our Customer Compliance, Risk Intelligence and our Legal Group. You will play a key role in maintaining these services and facilitating enhancements and innovation. In a time of significant transformation, you will be part of a fast-paced, high-profile team, working on complex and impactful digital services. Person specification You will be working to maintain and deliver service enhancements for either HMRC's Criminal Investigations, International Tax Exchange, Insolvency or Risk Intelligence Services. Your key responsibilities will be: • Product Delivery/Feature Development: Deliver complete products or specific features within a business area, or lead the discovery, alpha, and beta phases of a service., • Scope Definition and Adaptation: Define and adjust the service scope and key features in response to evolving business objectives and user research insights., • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with stakeholders to secure buy-in for the product vision and roadmap., • Collaborative Teamwork: Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including user research, service design, business analysis, and software engineering, to shape and build the product., • User Insight Integration: Work with performance analysts and user researchers to gather insights on live products for iteration and improvement., • Backlog Management: Maintain and prioritise a backlog of user stories, aligning them with organisational goals., • Option Evaluation: Collaborate with area leads to assess development options for products or services, including high-level financial implications., • Accessibility Standards: Ensure products and services are adapted to meet accessibility standards by collaborating with designers and researchers., • Research Collaboration: Partner with user researchers to shape activities for testing new product concepts, features, prototypes, and their usability., • Recent experience within a similar role/Agile experience., • Experience of building and maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders, including negotiating with stakeholders on difficult issues., • Experience of being able to prioritise work based on what is valuable to do first and getting buy-in from stakeholders for any associated project plans/ rollout plans/ roadmaps., • Experience of leading or supporting a product/project to deliver stated outcomes., • Demonstrate the ability to understand how to measure and track success of a product/project, service, or process change., • Research and analytical skills to assess user feedback and integrate insights into product development., • Prior experience of managing multiple product and service improvements., • Benton Park View, Newcastle - moving to Pilgrims Quarter, Newcastle, • Managing a Quality Service, • Delivering at Pace, • Pension - We make contributions to our colleagues' Alpha pension equal to at least 28.97% of their salary., • Family friendly policies., • Personal support., • A name-blind CV including your job history., • Managing a Quality Service, • Delivering at Pace, • UK nationals, • nationals of the Republic of Ireland, • nationals of Commonwealth countries who have the right to work in the UK, • nationals of the EU, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein and family members of those nationalities with settled or pre-settled status under the European Union Settlement Scheme (EUSS) (opens in a new window), • nationals of the EU, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein and family members of those nationalities who have made a valid application for settled or pre-settled status under the European Union Settlement Scheme (EUSS), • individuals with limited leave to remain or indefinite leave to remain who were eligible to apply for EUSS on or before 31 December 2020
