Drainage Engineer Competitive Salary Basingstoke – Hybrid (3 days office / 2 days home) £30,000 - £40,000 Are you a Civil Engineer looking to take full ownership of your drainage designs? Working alongside an Associate and a Director, you won’t just be hands on with technical work, you will be managing small projects independently, navigating the planning process, and evolving into a technical authority as a project leader. The successful Civil Engineer will: You will handle projects from the pre-planning stage through to on site construction, ensuring that every design is both innovative and compliant. • Take preliminary outlines and transform them into technical, detailed design packages for construction;, • Worked on Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs) and drainage reports that stand up to the scrutiny of clients and local authorities;, • Act as a bridge between the firm and external bodies, responding to planning conditions and managing client expectations via phone and email;, • Master industry standard drainage modelling software (Civil 3D / Site 3D) to ensure every solution is cost efficient and technically robust;, • Manage small scale projects without supervision and provide vital mentorship to technicians and students;, • Actively work toward your EngTech, IEng, or CEng professional qualification with full internal support. We are looking for a Civil Engineer with: We are looking for an engineer who is ready to move past the "graduate" phase and into a role with genuine responsibility. • A BEng or MEng in Civil Engineering is preferred, though we value proven "on-the-job" expertise;, • A strong grasp of civil engineering principles with a specific focus on drainage and SuDS;, • Confident in the use of drainage modelling software and a strong understanding of current UK standards;, • The ability to explain complex technical solutions clearly to clients and non-technical stakeholders;, • A commitment to 30 hours of CPD annually and a desire to achieve professional chartership.
