Job Summary The Health, Safety and Environmental Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring a safe working environment for all employees. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining health and safety policies and procedures in compliance with legal regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to identifying potential hazards, ensuring that the organisation prioritises the health and safety of its workforce. This position will located in our Basingstoke sites which consist of two factoring environments and one office environment. Key accountabilities: • Develop and maintain HSE policies, procedures, and management systems, ensuring they are aligned with ISO 45001 & ISO 14001 and Lavazza Group requirements., • Keep up to date with legislative and regulatory changes, and industry best practices ensuring the organisation remains compliant., • Undertake management system audits to ensure HSE regulations are adhered to., • Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing preventative measures., • Provide expert advice and guidance on HSE matters to employees and management., • Lead Health & Safety committee meetings with Safety Representatives and Area / Line managers., • Monitor and report on HSE performance metrics for regulatory and corporate requirements, including Energy Saving Opportunity Scheme (ESOS), Streamline Energy & Carbon Reporting (SECR), Battery & · Accumulation, Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment and Lavazza Sustainability., • Work with other Lavazza Group sites to share and develop best practice across the organisation., • Liaison with all functional areas within Lavazza Professional to assure HSE requirements are fully understood and executed. (Manufacturing / Supply – Machine Workshop and Drinks Factory, R&D, Field Service, Field Operation services and site offices)., • Conduct regular inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure a safe working environment., • Support the contractor accreditation membership scheme for the Field Service to visit customer sites., • Provide in-house training to raise awareness and understanding of the HSE requirements., • Site contact for regulatory and Asset Conservation site visits., • Management of the Basingstoke sites waste streams including registration of licences and exemptions, • Being an active member of the Energy Saving Team., • Ensuring site security arrangements are in place for both Basingstoke sites., • Providing a business HSE strategy to ensure compliance, promoting continuous improvement and a proactive safety culture., • Managers meetings - Review key performance indicators including leading and lagging metrics, incidents, performance data, trends, objective setting and areas of improvement. Monitor performance. With engineering and facilities team, review opportunities to reduce site energy., • Qualified to NEBOSH Diploma Occupational Health & Safety - ESSENTIAL, • Strong knowledge and understanding of health safety and environmental regulatory framework - ESSENTIAL, • Member of IOSH and an up to date Blueprint CPD - ESSENTIAL, • Experience with ISO45001 & ISO14001 management systems & certification audits - ESSENTIAL, • IEMA / ISEP certificate in Environmental management - ESSENTIAL, • Experience within a food manufacturing environment - ESSENTIAL, • Strong computer skills, experience in Windows, Excel and PowerPoint - ESSENTIAL, • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels. - ESSENTIAL, • Ability to prioritise business requirements - ESSENTIAL The successful candidate will be subject to background checks which may include a DBS check.
