Remote .NET Technical Lead ABOUT THE ROLE We are working with a UK-based, technology-led organisation that builds and operates mission-critical platforms used by large enterprise and public sector clients across the UK and Europe. They are hiring a Technical Lead / Lead Developer to strengthen technical leadership within a growing engineering function and to act as the day-to-day technical authority across multiple systems. This is a hands-on technical leadership role. You will remain close to the code while guiding engineering standards, improving consistency and supporting delivery at scale. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING • Acting as the technical lead for a distributed engineering team, • Writing production code across both backend and frontend, depending on project phase, • Reviewing code and improving quality, testing and consistency, • Leading technical discussions and day-to-day decision making, • Mentoring developers through code reviews and technical guidance, • Supporting customer-facing technical conversations when required, • Working closely with senior engineering leadership on delivery and architecture This is not a pure architect role and not a hands-off management position. TECH STACK This is a genuinely full-stack role with work split roughly 50/50, depending on priorities. Back End • C#, • Modern .NET, • API-led services, • SQL Server Architecture & Platform • Event-driven and asynchronous systems, • Messaging patterns, • Cloud-based infrastructure, • Docker and Kubernetes exposure Security • OIDC, • OAuth2, • SAML, • JWT, • Enterprise SSO implementations Front End • JavaScript / TypeScript, • Vue.js (version 3), • Composition API, • Axios and structured API patterns CURRENT FOCUS AREAS • Improving code quality and consistency across a complex platform estate, • Strengthening testing, observability and engineering standards, • Supporting onboarding and integration of new enterprise customers, • Evolving APIs and integration patterns as the platform scales AI & ENGINEERING PRACTICES AI-assisted development tools are already in use within the team. You will help: • Define sensible and consistent use of AI tools, • Introduce guardrails and best practices, • Use AI to improve productivity and code quality while maintaining engineering judgement TEAM & STRUCTURE • Lean, senior engineering team, • This role sits between the development team and senior engineering leadership, • No formal line management initially, but clear technical ownership REMOTE WORKING • Remote-first role, • Majority home-based, • Occasional in-person sessions for planning, reviews or architecture discussions, • Typically once per quarter, 2–3 days at a time, • All travel and accommodation covered SALARY & BENEFITS • Competitive senior-level salary £85,000 - £95,000, • Fully remote working model, 25 days holiday + bank INTERVIEW PROCESS • Two-stage interview process, • No coding tests, • Experience-led, technical discussions If this position is of interest, please apply now for immediate consideration.
