    FRONT OF HOUSE ASSISTANT – CANARY WHARF We are looking for a friendly, professional, and service-oriented Front of House Assistant to join our on-property hotel team. This role is the first point of contact for guests and plays a key part in delivering a welcoming and efficient guest experience throughout their stay. THE WORK IN YOUR HANDS Reception & Guest Experience Welcome guests with warmth, authenticity, and a personalised approach Complete check-in and check-out efficiently using the hotel’s PMS Assist with reservations, room allocation, and guest requests Provide local knowledge, recommendations, and curated lifestyle tips Handle billing, payments, and procedures accurately Resolve guest concerns quickly and effectively, escalating when needed Support lobby hosting duties: welcoming, socialising, and maintaining presentation Food & Beverage Service (where applicable) Deliver high-quality service across breakfast, bar, restaurant, coffee bar, and grab & go Prepare and serve coffees, drinks, and light food to brand standards Host in F&B spaces: welcoming guests, explaining menus, ensuring great experiences Maintain cleanliness, setup, and replenishment of F&B areas Assist with orders, inventory checks, and receiving deliveries Follow food safety, allergens, and hygiene procedures General Operations & Team Support Work flexibly across multiple areas depending on business needs Support events, activations, and lifestyle programming Ensure public areas remain clean, inviting, and on-brand Maintain a positive, supportive, and inclusive team environment Follow all hotel policies, safety procedures, and brand standards Naturally this is not intended as an exhaustive list of duties.     Role Description This is a full-time Sales Manager position based at Muthu Glasgow River Hotel & Spa, Erskine. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated hospitality professional responsible for driving Room and Food & Beverage revenue for the property, while also supporting wider commercial initiatives within the MGM Muthu Hotels portfolio. The role requires a proactive individual capable of generating new business, strengthening existing client relationships, and promoting the hotel across both online and offline channels. Flexibility to travel within Scotland and England is essential, including representing the property at key sales events, corporate meetings, and trade exhibitions. Key Responsibilities Generate new business for Muthu Glasgow River Hotel & Spa across Rooms, F&B, Events, Leisure, Corporate, and MICE segments. Build and strengthen relationships with existing and new online and offline accounts to secure future bookings. Conduct sales calls, market visits, and attend networking events to identify opportunities and expand the hotel’s presence. Maintain a database of FIT, groups, corporate accounts, bookers, travel agencies, and key influencers. Execute all operational aspects of sales activities, including proposals, contracts, RFP submissions, and client correspondence. Ensure monthly sales targets for the property are achieved across all assigned market segments. Update weekly and monthly sales action plans, MICE trackers, and performance reports. Liaise closely with hotel operations and the central commercial team to develop promotions and seasonal campaigns. Maintain strong understanding of local competitors in Glasgow, Erskine, and surrounding market areas—analysing strengths, weaknesses, demand trends, and opportunities. Provide feedback on product quality and service levels received from clients to the Sales Head and hotel leadership. Support cross-selling initiatives across other MGM Muthu Hotels in Scotland and the UK. Develop and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including corporate clients, travel partners, OTAs, and tour operators. Represent the hotel at trade shows, exhibitions, and community events within Scotland and other UK regions. Attend weekly departmental and hotel meetings as required. Qualifications & Skills Hospitality experience in Rooms and/or F&B sales or a similar role. Experience in national and unit hotel sales is preferred. Strong understanding of online travel agencies, GDS, RFP processes, corporate travel, and MICE business. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Strong organisational abilities and the capacity to manage multiple priorities. Demonstrated history of achieving or exceeding sales targets. Willingness to travel extensively within the UK; valid UK driving licence required. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to generate innovative ideas. Proficiency with CRM software, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management, Business Administration, Tourism, Marketing, Events, or related field preferred.
