Overview Are you an Analytical Chemist looking to work in a fast-growing Contract Development and Manufacturing Organisation (CDMO), committed to scientific excellence, innovation, and delivering solutions that make a real difference to patients’ lives? At Onyx Scientific, we are a trusted partner to a cross section of academic, biotech and pharmaceutical clients across the world, providing cutting-edge services from discovery through to commercial manufacture and are currently looking for an Analytical Chemist to work in our analytical services department. Working in a modern well-equipped laboratory, you will provide support to our research and manufacturing departments. With a degree which is chemistry or analytical chemistry based, you will ideally have experience in most modern analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC, FT-IR, LC-MS and wet chemistry techniques. Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision, you will have good interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, which are essential for working with both customers and colleagues. Experience of chiral HPLC / GC, method development and working to cGMP principles would be a distinct advantage. Key Responsibilities • Perform calibrations and verifications for equipment in the Analytical laboratory., • Maintain a high standard of lab cleanliness and tidiness., • Maintain GMP standards at all times., • Liaise with Senior staff within analytical and other departments where required., • All analysis, calibrations, and verifications to be documented to GMP standards (ALCOA++). Key Skills and Qualities • Full understanding of lab safety., • Understanding of the daily requirements of the department., • Basic understanding of the required analytical techniques and procedures., • Good time management., • Awareness of how to be efficient during work hours., • Familiarity of analytical techniques, their applications, and interpretation of results., • Problem-solving skills, and competency in identifying potential issues., • Work effectively as part of a team., • Good attitude and self-disciplined., • Enthusiastic, flexible, conscientious and proactive in approach., • Take a positive approach to own training and development.
