Prospero Teaching are recruiting for a welcoming and supportive primary school in Central East Birmingham. They are seeking a dedicated and compassionate EYFS Teaching Assistant with a strong interest in Special Educational Needs (SEN) support to join their Early Years team from September 2026. \n \nThis is a fantastic opportunity to work within a nurturing and inclusive school environment that is committed to providing high-quality education and tailored support for young learners, including pupils with additional needs, during the crucial early stages of development. \n \nThe successful candidate will play an important role in supporting children across the EYFS setting, particularly those with SEN, helping to create a positive, engaging, and safe learning environment where every child can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. \n \nThe Role: \nSupporting the class teacher within the EYFS classroom \nProviding targeted 1:1 and small group support for pupils with additional needs, including ASD, speech and language difficulties, and social/emotional needs \nAssisting with phonics, sensory learning activities, and structured play-based interventions \nAdapting activities to meet individual learning needs and abilities \nEncouraging communication, independence, and pupil engagement \nSupporting childrens social, emotional, and behavioural development using positive behaviour strategies \nWorking closely with the SENCO, class teacher, and external professionals where required \nHelping to maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment \n \nThe Ideal Candidate Will: \nHave previous experience working within an EYFS or SEN setting \nHave a good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework and inclusive practice \nHave experience supporting children with additional needs such as ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, or SEMH \nBe patient, nurturing, and resilient \nHave excellent communication and teamwork skills \nBe passionate about supporting children with SEN to reach their full potential \nBe reliable, proactive, and adaptable to the needs of individual pupils \n \nThe School Offers: \nA supportive and friendly staff team \nA welcoming and inclusive school environment \nOpportunities for ongoing professional development in SEN and Early Years practice \nWell-resourced EYFS and SEN provision \nStrong leadership and support from senior staff and the SENCO \n \nRequirements to Work with Prospero Teaching: \nHold Right to Work in the UK \nHold a valid, enhanced child barred list DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to obtain one) \nProvide two child-related professional references covering the last two years \n \nIf you are an experienced EYFS Teaching Assistant with a passion for SEN support and are looking for a rewarding new opportunity in Central East Birmingham, we would love to hear from you
