Job Description Future Stores is seeking experienced duty managers to join our London team on a part-time basis. As a duty manager, you’ll be the primary on-site contact and decision-maker in the store manager’s absence, including during emergencies, ensuring that store operations run safely, professionally, and in accordance with our policies and approved plans, schedules, and risk assessments for brand activations and events. Located on Oxford Street, Future Stores transforms one of Europe’s busiest retail locations into a cultural and commercial stage for brands. It’s where creativity meets commerce. A fully digital (400m² of 4K screens) flexible event space, our London store offers a unique platform for creative brand storytelling and innovation. Designed with flexibility and agility in mind, LED screens are instantly reprogrammable for dynamic content, dividers allow the space to be split into two separate brand showrooms, and back-of-house meeting rooms and spacious stock areas support tailored brand experiences. Key Responsibilities (inclusive of but not limited to) • Oversee the daily operations of the store when the store manager is unavailable., • Serve as the primary contact for brand partnerships and their stakeholders in the store manager’s absence, providing hands-on support for the preparation, setup, and derig of store activations and events during live trading hours and private events, and overseeing load-ins and load-outs., • Oversee third-party suppliers on-site - including security, cleaning, catering, and furniture hire - ensuring teams are briefed and deliver in line with operational, safety, and brand standards., • Ensure compliance with store policies, Health & Safety regulations, security measures, emergency procedures, and Licensing Laws., • In the event of an emergency or fire alarm, the duty manager is required to manage a full building evacuation, act as the primary contact for the fire brigade/emergency services in the absence of the store manager, maintain accurate incident reporting, and act as a First Aider when required., • Keyholder duties involve opening and closing the store, setting the alarm in accordance with security protocols, and responding to emergencies or specific needs. This includes coordinating building maintenance, reporting technical issues with LED screens, and overseeing intruder and fire alarm systems. Requirements • Proven experience in a comparable innovative and premium environment within media, immersive venues, retail, hospitality, events, or the arts and cultural sector., • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fluent in English., • Ability to prioritise and multi-task, exercise good judgment and solve problems effectively., • Pro-active, hands-on approach with excellent attention to detail., • Confidently manage challenges calmly and efficiently in a fast-paced, client-facing live environment., • Reliable, punctual and flexible. Being available on a flexible schedule is an essential part of the role, which includes weekends, evening events, UK bank holiday, and seasonal holiday shifts, as well as early morning or late evening hours during load-in, setup, de-rig, and load-out., • Willingness to be involved in the practical setup and derig of store events and activations; physically fit, as lifting and moving may be required., • Personal Licence Holder or willingness to obtain., • First Aid and Fire Marshall certified or willingness to become certified. Minimum shift length is 4 hours.
