Facilities Officer \n Location: Crawley \n Hours: Monday to Friday, 2:00pm - 10:00pm Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience \n About the Role \n My client is looking for a proactive and dependable Facilities Officer to join their team and help ensure their buildings, grounds and facilities remain safe, secure and well-maintained. This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone with practical maintenance experience who enjoys problem-solving and takes pride in delivering high standards. \n Working as part of the facilities team, you will play a key role in the smooth day-to-day operation of the site, supporting staff, visitors and building users while maintaining a safe, compliant and welcoming environment. \n Key Responsibilities \n\n • Carry out general building maintenance, repairs and minor improvement works.\n, • Undertake a range of multi-trade duties including basic carpentry, plumbing, decorating and flooring repairs.\n, • Conduct routine inspections of buildings, grounds and facilities, identifying and resolving maintenance issues.\n, • Open, close and secure buildings and grounds, carrying out regular security checks.\n, • Monitor alarms, CCTV and site security systems.\n, • Support health and safety compliance, including fire safety inspections and record keeping.\n, • Liaise with contractors and ensure adherence to site procedures and safety requirements.\n, • Set up rooms and facilities for meetings, events, lettings and operational activities.\n, • Support community use of facilities during evenings and other scheduled periods.\n, • Maintain tools, equipment and site assets in a safe and serviceable condition.\n, • Assist with sustainability, recycling and energy-efficiency initiatives.\n\n About You \n The successful candidate will have: \n\n • Experience in facilities management, site maintenance or a similar role.\n, • Practical multi-trade maintenance skills.\n, • A good understanding of health and safety responsibilities.\n, • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.\n, • The ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.\n, • Excellent communication and customer service skills.\n, • A flexible, reliable and positive approach to work.\n\n Desirable \n\n • Experience working within a school, education or public-sector environment.\n, • Knowledge of building compliance, fire safety and site security procedures.\n, • Full UK driving licence.\n\n What's on Offer? \n\n • A stable, full-time position working 2:00pm - 10:00pm, Monday to Friday.\n, • A varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same.\n, • Opportunities for ongoing training and professional development.\n, • The chance to work within a supportive and collaborative environment.\n\n If you are a practical, motivated individual who takes pride in maintaining safe, secure and well-presented facilities, my client would love to hear from you. \n
