We specialize in providing tailored education for 7-18 year olds facing social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH). Our students may have various diagnoses, including ASD, ADHD, FASD, anxiety, and other learning needs. \n\n Our unique approach features small, bespoke groupings of just 4-6 children, ensuring each pupil receives the individual attention they need to thrive. Our expansive private grounds create a therapeutic environment, perfect for outdoor learning experiences such as forest school, sports, and sensory trails. Inside, our fully refurbished building boasts a variety of classrooms and activity spaces for science, computing, music, drama, and Art/DT. \n\n As part of the Polaris Community, we have been dedicated to improving the lives of young people for over 30 years. With six SEN schools across the UK, we collaborate to provide each pupil with a diverse and supportive education that promotes engagement, inspires learning, and encourages achievement. All our provisions are rated Good or Outstanding by Ofsted. \n\nYour Role and Responsibilities\n As a vital member of our team, you will: \n\n • Mentor and support one pupil or a small group of no more than six pupils.\n, • Assist the Classroom Teacher during lessons.\n, • Report on pupils' progress and concerns, collaborating with other staff to meet their needs.\n, • Supervise pupils during non-classroom time, including extracurricular activities and school trips.\n, • Help with lesson planning and classroom preparation.\n, • Set work where appropriate and mark assignments.\n, • A strong educational background, ideally to A-level, with a minimum of GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics, along with sound IT skills.\n, • Previous experience in a similar role, such as Teaching Assistant.\n, • Experience working with pupils with SEMH in an educational setting.\n, • Confidence to take on additional responsibilities in areas like Food Hygiene, Forest School, Lunchtimes, or School Yoga.\n, • Knowledge of behavior management techniques.\n, • A commitment to professional development and a willingness to learn.\n, • A workplace that prioritizes the emotional health and wellbeing of everyone, including you!\n, • Support for your professional development through a variety of skill-building opportunities.\n, • The chance to make a significant impact on the lives of vulnerable children who deserve high-quality teaching in a safe environment.\n
