The successful candidate will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality, performance‑driven online shopping experiences. Naturally, addressing bug reports will come naturally along with working under pressure across both new websites and re-platforming projects. The Role • Developing, customising and maintaining Magento 2 (Adobe Commerce) websites and extensions – both backend and frontend, • Building and customising Magento modules, themes, and third‑party integrations, • Working alongside our developers to ensure that new code integrates with the Magento framework, performs well, and is maintainable., • Reviewing code and pull requests from other team members., • Ensure high performance, security, and scalability of eCommerce platforms, • Collaborate with the Ecommerce Team and Junior members for find ways to improve the development process, • Optimize site speed, checkout flow, and overall user experience, • Working with APIs, payment gateways, shipping providers, and ERP/CRM systems, • Collaborating with the team to create and maintain project documentation in READMEs and Confluence., • Follow Magento best practices, coding standards, and architectural guidelines, • Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, bugs, and performance bottlenecks to ensure a timely resolution, • Actively participating in peer code reviews while maintaining clear and accurate technical documentation. Requirements • Proven experience as a Magento 2 / Adobe Commerce Developer, with around four years’ commercial experience and a strong backend focus., • Strong working knowledge of Magento 2 development, architecture, and best‑practice approaches., • Proficient in PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, XML, and JavaScript, with practical experience applying these in production environments., • Hands‑on experience working with both Magento Open Source and Adobe Commerce platforms., • Confident setting up, managing, and debugging projects using local development environments such as Docker and Composer, with minimal supervision., • Experience using Magento‑related testing frameworks, including PHPUnit, to support code quality and stability., • Working knowledge of version control and project management tools, including Git, Bitbucket, and Jira., • Experience building and maintaining solutions using Hyvä themes, Tailwind CSS, and Alpine.js., • Strong problem‑solving ability, with clear communication and good interpersonal skills., • Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative development team., • Good understanding of cross‑browser and cross‑device compatibility considerations, constraints, and solutions., • Proven ability to translate wireframes and UI prototypes into high‑quality, responsive digital experiences, following mobile‑first and modern UX best practices., • Experience improving platform performance through effective code optimisation and database query tuning.
