Commercial Property Lawyer Location: York (hybrid and flexible working) Salary: £55,000 to £75,000 Experience: 2+ years PQE If you are a Commercial Property Lawyer who wants high-quality work without unrealistic pressure, and you value a firm that genuinely supports flexible working and long-term development, this is a strong opportunity to join a growing team with multiple openings. Our client is expanding their Commercial Property team and is open to speaking with lawyers from around 2 years PQE upwards (and potentially slightly below for the right person). You will join a collaborative, supportive group where partners are accessible, mentoring is part of the culture, and you will be trusted to shape your working day. You will work with a broad client base including landowners, commercial property owners, developers, housebuilders and agricultural clients on a varied and often complex caseload. There is real scope to broaden your technical experience, take on more sophisticated transactions, and develop your career in a sustainable way. What Youll Be Doing • Managing your own matters while also supporting on larger, more complex transactions, • Handling sale and purchase of freehold and leasehold commercial and residential property, • Advising on land acquisitions and disposals, including conditional contracts, • Working on promotion agreements, • Drafting and negotiating commercial and residential leases, • Supporting development work including site acquisitions and disposals, option agreements, overage agreements, planning and infrastructure agreements and plot sales, • Advising on easements, • Supporting secured lending and property portfolio financing, • Building and strengthening relationships with existing and new clients, • Delivering excellent client care and contributing to business development activity What Were Looking For • A qualified Solicitor with 2+ years PQE in commercial property (or closely related property work), • Comfortable managing your own caseload with appropriate supervision, • Strong drafting skills and a practical, client-focused approach, • A collaborative mindset and genuine interest in being part of a growing team, • Confidence building relationships and getting involved in networking and business development Whats On Offer • Competitive salary with generous bonus scheme, • Realistic billing targets that support quality rather than volume, • Genuine flexible working, including the ability to shape your day around core hours, • Hybrid working (up to 50% from home for most roles), • 26 days annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing with long service, • Office closure between Christmas and New Year, • Your birthday off (during your birthday month), • Health cash plan and wellbeing support (including counselling and wellbeing resources), • Pension scheme and life cover (2x salary) plus personal accident insurance, • Cycle to Work scheme and commuting benefits, • Professional development support including induction, clear progression framework, mentoring, and support for relevant qualifications and subscriptions, • Staff discounts on legal services, • Regular social events and an active social committee, • On-site parking Working Arrangements Hybrid and flexible working are available.
