Job Title: Project Manager – Specialist Markets Location: London (Hybrid) Salary: £45,000–£55,000 + Car Allowance Overview An established global real estate consultancy is seeking a Project Manager to join its Project & Development team in London, supporting a growing pipeline of work within the Specialist Markets sector. The team primarily delivers student accommodation (PBSA) schemes, alongside projects across healthcare, education, and residential sectors. With strong expertise in refurbishment-led programmes, the team manages both complex live environment refurbishments and new-build developments, typically ranging from £20m–£30m. Current projects include large-scale refurbishment portfolios for institutional investors (often delivered within constrained timeframes such as university holiday periods), new-build PBSA developments, and university-led schemes across London and the South East. Projects are predominantly administered under JCT forms of contract. The Role This is a client-facing Project Manager role offering exposure across the full project lifecycle, from early feasibility and design through to construction and completion. You will take ownership of projects with support from senior team members, contributing to delivery while developing your capability to lead schemes independently. The role offers a balance of hands-on delivery, client interaction, and technical development within a collaborative consultancy environment. Key Responsibilities • Support and lead the delivery of refurbishment and new-build projects (c. £20m–£30m), • Contribute across all RIBA stages, from feasibility and design (RIBA 0–3) through to construction and handover, • Act in a Contract Administration capacity under JCT contracts, • Coordinate and manage project teams including consultants, designers, and contractors, • Monitor programme, cost, risk, and quality to ensure successful project delivery, • Prepare client reports and provide regular project updates, • Attend and contribute to client and stakeholder meetings, • Support compliance with relevant regulations, including the Building Safety Act where applicable, • Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication Candidate Profile • Circa 2+ years’ post-graduate experience within project management, construction consultancy, or development, • Experience delivering projects within residential (PBSA, BTR, Co-living), education, or healthcare sectors, ideally including refurbishment, • Strong understanding of JCT contracts and Contract Administration duties, • Experience working across multiple RIBA stages, including early design phases, • MRICS qualified or currently working towards APC (preferred, not essential), • Background in Project Management or Quantity Surveying (with a transition into PM also considered), • Technically competent, organised, and detail-oriented, • Confident, client-facing, and commercially aware, • Proactive, collaborative, and delivery-focused Why Apply • Exposure to high-value, complex refurbishment and development schemes, • Strong pipeline of student accommodation and mixed-sector projects, • Clear progression pathway to Senior Project Manager, • Supportive and collaborative team environment, • Ongoing professional development, including RICS support, • Opportunity to work within a well-established global consultancy
