Established in the early 1990's, they have grown significantly and secured multiple blue-chip contracts due to their outstanding reputation.\n\nThey are now seeking a skilled and motivated Commercial Gas Engineer to carry out mobile maintenance works to join our clients team in the Edinburgh / |Dunfermline / Livingston and the surrounding areas.\n\nJOB OVERVIEW\n\nThis role will involve servicing, maintaining, and troubleshooting combustion systems and mechanical equipment in a variety of mobile settings, ensuring they are operating at optimum efficiency and in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. The successful candidate will possess a strong technical background in combustion engineering and mechanical systems, with the ability to work independently in a dynamic, mobile environment. Our client base is Managing agents of commercial office blocks & industrial units, Retail & Student Accommodation\n\nJOB RESPONSBILITIES\n\nCombustion System Maintenance & Troubleshooting:\nConduct regular service, maintenance, and repair of combustion and mechanical systems in various mobile units, including vehicles, engines, and industrial equipment.\nDiagnose and resolve issues related to combustion processes, fuel systems, and exhaust systems.\nPerform combustion optimization and efficiency tests, including emission monitoring and reduction strategies.\n\nMechanical System Maintenance:\nOversee the mechanical integrity of mobile systems, ensuring they are in peak operational condition.\nPerform mechanical repairs, replacements, and upgrades on engines, pumps, and other mechanical components.\n\nInstallation & Commissioning:\nInstall, test, and commission combustion and mechanical equipment for new or upgraded systems in mobile settings.\nEnsure proper calibration and setup of systems to meet performance specifications.\n\nSafety & Compliance:\nAdhere to all relevant safety regulations, standards, and codes of practice when working with combustion systems and mechanical equipment.\nRegularly inspect and monitor systems to ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.\nKeep up to date with the latest combustion and mechanical engineering standards and best practices.\n\nDocumentation & Reporting:\nMaintain detailed records of all maintenance, repairs, inspections, and testing performed.\nProvide accurate and timely reports to management on system performance, maintenance schedules, and identified issues.\n\nClient Interaction:\nEngage with clients directly during service visits to discuss system performance, offer recommendations, and explain technical solutions.\nProvide excellent customer service and technical support to clients, ensuring satisfaction and building long-term relationships.\n\nContinuous Improvement:\nIdentify opportunities for improving combustion and mechanical systems to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and meet environmental targets.\nStay informed of emerging technologies and industry trends, incorporating them into operational practices where appropriate\n\nSKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS\n\nEducation:\nACS Commercial Gas Qualifications (COCN1, CIGA1, CDGA1, CORT1, ICPN1A) – Essential\nGas Safe Registration – Essential\nFull Uk Driving Licence - Essential\n\nExperience:\nMinimum of 5 years of experience in a combustion or mechanical engineering role, previous experience working with a facilities management company is a plus.\nProven experience with the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of combustion systems (e.g., burners, boilers, gas fired water heaters etc).\nHands-on experience with mechanical/pressurised systems, including pumps, and associated mechanical components.\nPrevious experience working in the field or on-site (mobile or remote) is a plus.\n\nTechnical Skills:\nStrong knowledge of combustion processes, fuel systems, and emission control technologies.\nProficiency in diagnostic tools and techniques for combustion and mechanical systems.\nFamiliarity with modern mechanical engineering software and systems for diagnostics, analysis, and maintenance planning.\n\nSoft Skills:\nExcellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and autonomously.\nStrong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues to non-technical clients.\nCustomer-focused with a commitment to providing high-quality service.\nExcellent time management and organizational skills to manage mobile workload efficiently.\n\nAdditional Requirements:\nFull UK driving license and willingness to travel regularly within London and surrounding areas.\nAbility to work in outdoor or remote locations and adapt to changing work environments.\nParticipate in an on-call rota to provide emergency response services outside of normal working hours.\nKnowledge of health and safety regulations and ability to work in compliance with legal and safety standards.\n\nSALARY & BENEFITS\n\n£42k - £45k (DOE)\nOn Call 1 in 8\n25 Days Holiday + Bank Holiday\nCompany vehicle\nFuel card.\nPension scheme.\nHealth and wellness benefits.\nOngoing training and professional development opportunities.\nOpportunities for career growth within the organization.\n\nPlease call Clare on (phone number removed) for more information and please apply to this advert to prompt a call back
