We are delighted to be assisting this prestigious global insurance broker with the appointment of an experienced Commercial Account Executive to work within its specialist Housing Association Division on a fully home-based contract. The team is well-renowned in this specialist arena and its client base comprises many of the top housing associations in the country; some with as many as 130,000 units within their property portfolio. This rare position has come about as a result of significant growth of the account; the division has enjoyed phenomenal success over the last few years and has won many major housing association clients within the last 18 months. In addition, to give you an idea of the companys impeccable client retention rate, they have only lost 1 client in the last 3 years. "Our clients are continually changing and diversifying, such as building their own properties and growing sizeable maintenance teams, which results in the need for some really interesting and complex insurance programmes." Working from home, youll inherit a book of approximately 25 loyal clients, who tend to be on long-term agreements of up to 5 years, and your account will be tailored to suit your skills, experience and geographical location. Individual clients tend to generate between £10K - £100K income, and whilst they are predominantly Property & Casualty-biased, many also have a wider range of insurance requirements including, but not limited to, Contractors All Risks, Financial Lines, Group PA and Financial Lines. We are open to applicants experience, however, it is likely that you are currently either an Account Executive, or a gregarious Account Handler, who is ready to take the next step into a client-facing role. You must have solid experience within Property & Casualty / Commercial Combined insurance, together with the ability to converse effectively with, and gain credibility from sophisticated insurance buyers. Crucially, youll be well-organised and consultative, with the ability to adapt your style to a wide range of clientele. As youll be working for a world-leading broking house, youll have the opportunity to introduce other ancillary services and specialists to your clients (such as Employee Benefits and Risk Management etc), which can result in healthy additional personal bonus. We must emphasise that there is not a huge amount of traveling required with this role as clients typically have 2 or 3 meetings a year. However, you must be happy to attend a meeting at the companys head office in Reading, once a month on average. Our team (NALONoise, Air Quality, Lighting and Odour) of 30+ multidisciplinary environmental consultants, survey, assess and advise on a wide range of specific situations, from small scale planning applications right through to acting as expert witness at hearings and inquiries. We typically undertake surveys then use innovative computer-based modelling techniques to predict noise, air quality, wind, odour, lighting or daylight/sunlight levels, and assess acoustic performance. Our clients include UK MoD, Sainsburys, Amazon (projects in UK, France, Italy, Germany, Spain, Poland & Egypt), together with a variety of local authorities and transportation, retail, housing and commercial building developer clients. Our NALO consultancy services include: - Air quality. - Environmental noise and vibration, including assessment and developing mitigation measures for buildings, highways, mining and blasting and, complex scenarios. - Building acoustics. - Occupational noise and hygiene. - Environmental lighting. - Daylight, sunlight & overshadowing. - Odour. As a member of the air quality team, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects undertaking surveys, modelling and assessment to determine the potential air quality effects resulting from new developments, whether that be new housing schemes, new industrial or commercial developments, or other projects such as educational facilities. The projects the team work on range from small scale developments to larger scale and major infrastructure and construction sites, with a view to protecting existing residents in the vicinity of new developments, future residents of proposed schemes, and sensitive ecological species which may be affected by air pollution. We undertake modelling and assessment of traffic pollution resulting from new developments, as well as determining the potential effects of industrial emissions and odour from a variety of sources. Whilst the main focus of this role is working on producing air quality assessments, there will also be an element of completing environmental surveys, sometimes involving overnight stays and the occasional weekend. We are looking to recruit up to Principal level, dependent on the level of experience. You will have a proven track record of working in air quality consultancy and be able to provide examples of your skills and previous experience which demonstrate your suitability for the position. The role will include undertaking review of the assessment work completed by the team for quality assurance purposes, as well as project management and line management responsibilities. The candidate must be committed to mentoring and supervising the work of less experienced members of the team with a view to supporting them with their development, whilst also progressing with your own continuous professional development. Our team is spread throughout the UK with a flexible approach to location, but to undertake this role you will need to be able to work in the office at least twice a week. The NALO team are primarily based in our Leicester, Manchester, Leeds and London offices. Qualifications & Experience - Must be degree qualified (or equivalent) and be able to provide examples of your skills and previous experience working in air quality consultancy. - Experience using ADMS Roads modelling software. - Experience using AERMOD software preferred but not essential. - Experience using GIS software preferred but not essential. - Project Management experience. - Line management experience preferred but not essential. - Experience undertaking peer reviews of survey, assessment and reporting work completed by others for quality assurance purposes. - Experience of undertaking collaborative work, including dealing directly with clients and other external organisations. - Must have good geospatial interpretation ability in order to find and identify precise locations on surveys. - Must be willing to work flexibly to tight timescales. - Able to use technical equipment in the field with minimum supervision. - A full manual UK driving license is essential. - Follows relevant policies and procedures.
