Role We are looking for a QA Engineer to ensure the delivery of high-quality software through effective manual and automated testing. The role involves creating and executing test cases, identifying and reporting defects, and collaborating closely with development teams to ensure products meet functional and user requirements. You’ll participate in sprint activities, validate new features, perform regression testing, and contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes in an Agile environment. Responsibilities • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Developers, BAs, Product Owners) to understand requirements and ensure test coverage., • Design, develop, and execute test cases for web and backend systems based on functional and non-functional requirements., • Build and maintain automated test suites using tools like Selenium, Playwright, or REST-assured., • Validate end-to-end workflows across Pega or enterprise platforms, including business rules, integrations, and case lifecycle., • Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives) and own testing efforts., • Log, manage, and track defects in tools like JIRA or Azure DevOps, ensuring timely resolution., • Work with Infrastructure teams to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines., • Perform regression testing, smoke testing, and exploratory testing as needed., • Contribute to test documentation, best practices, and knowledge sharing within the QA team., • Continuously assess and improve test processes, tools, and techniques to ensure high product quality., • Test cloud infrastructure in AWS and/or Azure environments, verifying deployment, configuration, and security of services., • 2-5 years of hands-on experience in Quality Assurance and Test Automation., • Proficiency in at least one programming language used for automation, such as Java or JavaScript, • Clear understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and ability to apply them in test automation frameworks., • Proficiency in test automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright, REST-assured, or equivalent., • Experience with version control tools (e.g., Git) to manage test assets and work alongside development teams., • Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, SDLC, and Agile/Scrum practices., • Experience testing web applications, APIs, and backend systems., • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools like AWS, Git, or Azure DevOps., • Ability to write clear and concise test cases, bug reports, and documentation., • Working knowledge of defect management tools such as JIRA or Azure DevOps., • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail., • Experience working with the Pega platform or other SaaS based applications, • Familiarity with performance testing tools like JMeter or LoadRunner., • Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

The opportunity: Our PCB Layout team is responsible for providing a full PCB Layout Service to all Internal Programmes. These span all technologies from PTH boards to complex multilayer, rigid/flexi-rigid, surface mount, impedance matched, RF etc. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to develop your technical skills across our broad range of products. You'll be working closely with engineers and PCB suppliers developing complex PCB Layouts based on technical requirements (electrical, mechanical, thermal and environmental). This can entail developing and adapting emerging technologies to meet our high reliability requirements, whilst maintaining a high production yield, delivered on time, on cost, on quality. You'll also mentor and participate in knowledge sharing with other team members playing an active role in their own and your development. Should you wish to be based out of our Bolton site, regular travel to our Stevenage site will be required to meet with our design team, project designers and fulfil your training needs. This is an essential requirement. What we're looking for from you: Extensive/specialist experience in one or more areas such as RF/High speed/Analogue/Power/SI or EMC Good negotiation and influencing skills to ensure design requirements are suitable for production processes Ability to lead and support design reviews as well as new technology introductions both national and international. Substantial knowledge and experience of PCB design and best practices for PCB layout for high reliability products. Substantial knowledge of PCB fabrication processes and technologies (materials, stack-ups etc.) Strong communication skills to facilitate regular face-to-face and electronic communications with all relevant stakeholders including our international partners.
