Site Engineer – UPVC Fabrication Machinery & Site Maintenance Location: Aldridge, West Midlands Job Type: Full-time (40–45 hours per week) Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 DOE About the Role We are working on behalf of an established UPVC window and door manufacturing business seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer / Site Engineer. This is a varied, hands-on role responsible for maintaining and repairing specialist UPVC fabrication machinery as well as supporting general site and facilities maintenance. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring maximum equipment uptime and smooth day-to-day production operations. Key Responsibilities Machinery Maintenance • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on UPVC fabrication machinery, • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults, • Respond quickly to breakdowns to minimise production downtime, • Install, commission, and relocate machinery when required, • Maintain accurate maintenance records and service schedules, • Liaise with external suppliers and contractors where necessary Site Maintenance • Carry out general building and facilities maintenance tasks, • Maintain site services including lighting, heating, compressed air systems, and utilities, • Undertake minor repairs to buildings, fixtures, and equipment, • Support health & safety inspections and ensure compliance with procedures, • Maintain workshop tools and maintenance equipment Continuous Improvement • Identify opportunities to improve machinery reliability and efficiency, • Support machinery upgrades and improvement projects, • Assist in managing spare parts stock levels and recommendations Candidate Requirements Essential • Proven experience in a maintenance engineering role within manufacturing or production, • Strong mechanical fault-finding and repair skills, • Basic electrical fault-finding ability, • Experience working with industrial machinery, • Ability to read technical drawings and manuals, • Strong organisational and record-keeping skills, • Full UK driving licence, • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively Desirable • Experience with UPVC fabrication machinery (e.g., welding, routing, cutting, CNC, corner cleaning), • Electrical qualifications (City & Guilds, NVQ, 18th Edition or equivalent), • Knowledge of PLC-controlled systems, • Health & Safety qualification (IOSH or equivalent)
