Job DescriptionCNC Machinist -- 1st shift -- flexible start time -- weekly pay This role focuses on setting up, programming, and operating CNC and manual machines to produce high‑precision components that meet strict engineering specifications. You will work with a variety of materials, interpret complex blueprints and GD&T, and ensure high quality through careful inspection and adherence to safety and documentation standards in a clean, climate‑controlled facility. Responsibilities • Set up CNC mills, lathes, and multi‑axis machines by loading raw materials, configuring tools, and preparing fixtures and workholding devices., • Program or load machining instructions, including G and M codes, to define cutting paths, speeds, and feed rates for efficient and accurate production., • Operate CNC and manual equipment such as mills, lathes, grinders, shears, drill presses, and other shop equipment to cut, turn, and shape parts according to engineering specifications., • Interpret blueprints, detailed prints, tolerances, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) to ensure parts meet design requirements., • Machine a wide range of materials including aluminum, steel, stainless steel, plastics, tool steels, and exotic alloys while maintaining dimensional accuracy and surface finish., • Inspect in‑process and finished parts using precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, and other gauges to verify quality and adherence to specifications., • Perform routine maintenance on machines, troubleshoot operational issues, and make necessary adjustments to tooling, offsets, and programs at the machine., • Use CAD/CAM and related software, such as Surfcam and SolidWorks, to support programming, tooling paths, and process optimization., • Document production activities, maintain accurate production logs, and follow established procedures for setup, operation, and quality checks., • Adhere to all safety protocols, maintain a clean and organized work area, and contribute to a safe and efficient shop environment. Essential Skills • Minimum of 2 years of experience setting up and operating CNC machines, including either mills or lathes., • Proven ability to set up CNC mills, lathes, and multi‑axis machines, including tool selection, offsets, fixturing, and workholding. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Associate degree in a related field., • Experience with Surfcam for CAM programming and toolpath generation. Why Work Here? You will work with mills, lathes, multi‑axis and 5‑axis machines, turret machines, shears, drill presses, grinders, and other machining tools. The shop leverages modern CAD/CAM and design software such as Surfcam, SolidWorks, and Autodesk Inventor to support efficient programming and production. Safety, organization, and cleanliness are priorities, and the environment is structured to support precision machining and consistent, high‑quality output. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lincoln, NE. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
