Job DescriptionJob Title: Plant OperatorJob Description We are seeking a dedicated Plant Operator to join our team in New Haven. This role involves inspecting, maintaining, and controlling process equipment, as well as performing mechanical maintenance throughout the water pollution control plant. Responsibilities • Work closely with experienced operators to become proficient in both departments within the New Haven facility., • Grease equipment, change belts, and perform oil changes in gearboxes., • Handle the receipt of supply shipments., • Maintain records of plant operations, including hourly operating data, plant violations, and abnormal operating conditions., • Perform fire guard duty and confined space watch., • Ensure the safe, clean, and efficient operation of the facility through general work and housekeeping activities such as sweeping and shoveling.Essential Skills, • Mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in areas such as construction, automotive, or mechanical fields., • Possession of a reliable vehicle., • Ability to work varying shifts, including overtime, holidays, on-call duty, and emergency call-ins., • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills, including reading a tape measure and using hand tools.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Ability to read and comprehend instructional manuals, technical data, work orders, and mechanical drawings in English., • Physical ability to perform duties at heights up to 20 ft., • Proficiency in using personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary., • Capability to operate industrial forklifts/man lifts, hand and power tools.
