Job Description Vice President of Finance & IT Role Overview: The Vice President of Finance & IT is responsible for the financial health, data intelligence, and technological infrastructure of Goodwill Southern Los Angeles County (SOLAC). This position will play a critical role in driving operational efficiency, financial sustainability, and digital transformation through strategic budgeting, advanced analytics, cost optimization, and automation. Reporting to the CEO and working with the Executive Team, the VP will help modernize systems and maximize mission impact through data-informed decision-making and scalable technologies. Exemplary Duties / Responsibilities: Financial Leadership & Budgeting • Lead the end-to-end management of Finance and Technology operations, ensuring alignment with the Agency’s mission, strategic goals, and compliance with state and federal financial regulations and standards., • Report the financial status of the organization to the CEO, Board of Directors, and Senior Leadership, providing actionable insights and recommendations for performance improvement., • Monitor and forecast cash flow, develop rolling budgets, and implement scenario planning to ensure fiscal resiliency., • Oversee financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and preparation of GAAP-compliant financial statements for internal and external stakeholders., • Drive accountability through budget-to-actual variance analysis, program profitability reporting, and KPI dashboards., • Lead audit preparation and management and serve as the primary liaison with auditors and the Board Finance Committee., • Develop and execute a forward-thinking technology strategy that enables operational excellence, scalability, and cyber-resilience., • Lead automation initiatives across financial, HR, and administrative functions, including AP/AR, payroll, procurement, reporting, and compliance., • Champion digital modernization across departments, with a focus on CRM/ERP systems, cloud platforms, and mobile solutions., • Build and lead a high-performing analytics function to deliver actionable insights across finance, programs, retail, and development., • Design and deploy business intelligence dashboards, predictive models, and financial analysis tools for real-time performance tracking., • Promote a data-driven culture across the organization by equipping leaders and teams with tools and training., • Build and lead a high-performing analytics function to deliver actionable insights across finance, programs, retail, and development., • Design and deploy business intelligence dashboards, predictive models, and financial analysis tools for real-time performance tracking., • Promote a data-driven culture across the organization by equipping leaders and teams with tools and training., • Standardize reporting and leverage analytics to guide strategic decisions on pricing, staffing, inventory, and resource allocation. Minimum Qualifications: Education/Experience: Any combination of education or experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would qualify. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Technology or related field., • 10+ years of senior leadership experience in finance and technology, including budgeting and operational oversight., • Experience managing systems and budgets in multi-location-based business unit businesses (retail, restaurants, services), • Experience managing complex budgets over $20M and multiple teams or departments., • Expertise in GAAP, nonprofit financial management, compliance, and internal controls., • Demonstrated success in implementing enterprise-wide budgeting systems, automation tools, or data platforms., • Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills; highly emotionally intelligent and culturally aware., • Experience with POS systems, preferably Epicor or similar systems, • Experience with ERP systems, preferably Sage Intaact or similar systems, • Experience with Payroll systems, preferably Ceridian/Dayforce or similar systems, • Valid CA Driver’s License, being willing and able to produce a valid registration upon demand and utilize personal vehicle for work related travel. Preferred Qualifications: • CPA, CMA, MBA, Technology or relevant advanced degree., • Experience in nonprofit, retail, social enterprise, or workforce development sectors., • Familiarity with ERP, BI, and automation systems such as Sage Intacct, Microsoft Power BI, NetSuite, Tableau, or similar., • Proven track record of leading digital transformation and delivering measurable cost savings.
