Position: Lab Technician I π Location: Wheat Ridge, CO π Schedule: MondayβFriday | 9:00 PM β 5:30 AM (Night Shift) π² Pay Rate: $25.00 β $28/hr π
Duration: 6 months to start, with potential for extension We are seeking a Lab Technician I to join a fast-paced, high-quality diagnostic laboratory environment. In this role, you will contribute directly to animal health outcomes by supporting accurate and timely diagnostic testing alongside veterinarians, medical teams, and laboratory professionals. Key Responsibilities β’ Prepare and process biological specimens across multiple disciplines, including hematology, urinalysis, serology, chemistry, endocrinology, parasitology, cytology, and coagulation, β’ Operate automated analyzers, microscopes, and diagnostic laboratory equipment (blood, serum, urine, feces samples), β’ Perform, review, and document laboratory testing in accordance with established SOPs, β’ Conduct routine and non-routine equipment maintenance and basic troubleshooting, β’ Review and validate Quality Control data, including Levey-Jennings charts, β’ Ensure proper specimen handling, storage, and documentation practices, β’ Maintain compliance with all safety, regulatory, and biohazard requirements, β’ Keep laboratory spaces clean, organized, and audit-ready, β’ Manage lab logs, records, and inventory tracking, β’ Prepare and ship specimens in compliance with DOT regulations, β’ MT, MLT, or CVT/RVT preferred, β’ 2- or 4-year degree in a scientific field considered, β’ 1β5+ years of laboratory experience (dependent on education level), β’ Strong attention to detail with ability to follow SOPs consistently, β’ Ability to sit or stand for extended periods, β’ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Benefit offerings include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits, and a 401(k) plan.
