Job DescriptionDescription: The MIC Assembler III performs advanced assembly of micro-electronic components and circuits. This role works independently on complex builds, including space and development hardware, while ensuring workmanship meets strict engineering and quality standards. In addition to hands-on assembly responsibilities, the MIC Assembler III supports inspection activities, process improvements, and provides guidance and mentoring to less-experienced team members. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, technically skilled, and committed to maintaining productivity, quality, and team success. • Read, interpret, and follow detailed circuit layout drawings, bonding diagrams, and engineering work instructions, • Assemble complex MIC and MMIC circuits, including fine-pitch components, deep access housing assemblies, and high-reliability space hardware, • Perform precision epoxy die attach and component placement using microscopes and specialized manual tools, • Execute manual gap welding operations and other precision joining techniques, • Perform component and MMIC inspections to verify workmanship quality and alignment, • Conduct pull testing and shear force testing to validate assembly integrity and compliance with specifications, • Perform rework, repair, and modification of assemblies in accordance with engineering and quality requirements, • Support engineering prototype builds and development activities, assisting with process improvement efforts, • Operate specialized equipment including plasma cleaning systems, bake ovens, and hot work holders, • Train and mentor entry-level and intermediate assemblers, sharing best practices and workmanship standards, • Accurately document assembly steps, inspections, and test results on production travelers, • Maintain a clean, organized, and ESD-compliant work area, ensuring proper handling and storage of tools and materials., • Team player with a positive attitude, eager to collaborate and contribute to the success of the team., • Support special projects, providing additional assistance and resources as needed., • U.S. citizenship required due to federal contract regulations., • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred., • 4+ years of hands-on experience in micro-electronics, semiconductor, aerospace, or precision electronics assembly., • Demonstrated ability to perform advanced assembly and inspection tasks independently., • Expert with fine-pitch components and complex circuit configurations., • Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings and bonding diagrams., • Strong understanding of micro-electronic assembly workmanship and quality standards., • Experience working with delicate components under a microscope for extended periods., • Proven ability to train, guide, or mentor other assemblers., • Strong attention to detail, organization, and productivity awareness., • Basic computer skills for documentation and recordkeeping. Physical Requirements: Engage in the following activities for prolonged periods of time: This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. • Ability to stay in stationary position for extended length of time., • Possess manual dexterity/fine motor skills., • Ability to work under a microscope continuously for an extended period of time.
