ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB The Gage Assembler will be responsible for delivering results that include the following: • Complete projects from setup sheets and blueprints, • Power clean all sides of parts with alcohol in order to remove grease, • Operate belt sander, sand blaster, and small tools to include drills, hand tools, torches, presses and fixtures, • Utilize precision measuring tools and various gages to ensure parts meet specifications, • Set tight tolerances and calibrate gages to meet established guidelines, • Operate computer to input production time; check quantity and status of parts as well as any other necessary standard operation, • Repair customer precision measuring gages and setting fixtures of various kinds, • Disassemble, troubleshoot and replace bad parts; clean and re-assemble parts as well as calibrate according to blueprint tolerance, • Assemble new gages and setting fixtures, • Review blueprints, setup sheets and various fixtures for small assemblies and various measuring devices, • Complete lapping on pins for flatness according to blueprints, • Grind parts to tolerance using grinder and torque wrench, • Evaluate customer gages and estimate parts and time for special gages, • Respond to customer service questions, • Inspect all jobs to ensure they meet quality standards, • At least 1 year of experience, • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers including decimals and fractions Simple reference use of formulas, charts, shop prints, specifications and computer scanning devices, • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb, stoop and crouch, push, pull, reach, grasp, feel, talk, and hear., • Generally light physical effort. Performs tasks of substantial variety which require a knowledge of assembly techniques, tools, materials, machines and equipment, • Test Assembled parts as per product requirements, • Perform repair work (under FAA and other regulatory requirements) as required., • Monitor clean room particles counter, • Read and interpret the blueprint, • Assemble to blueprint specifications, • Create setup (whether it is a setup box or a complex setup)., • Read ATP and follow its procedures to test the parts (if ATP is required for the part)., • Fill out test data to record results of the ATP, if applicable., • Test parts from outside sources and answer any questions, when necessary., • Help out where needed to complete the job orders to schedule., • Comply with Essex company policies and maintain a positive work environment., • Assist in other areas, or tasks, to meet production needsRequirements, • Required to have 1-3 years' experience in assembly work; high school level education required or equivalent.
