Job Description Job Title: Inventory Control Specialist Job Description The Inventory Control Specialist maintains accurate inventory levels and ensures stock integrity across all operations. In this role, you perform routine cycle counts, track inbound and outbound materials, and update inventory systems to reflect real-time stock levels. You support a growing organization that is introducing new products and expanding its business, playing a key role in keeping inventory organized, reliable, and ready to meet customer demand. Responsibilities • Receive and inspect incoming materials to confirm quality and accuracy., • Verify shipments against purchase orders and packing slips to ensure correct quantities and items., • Log inventory data into internal systems in a timely and accurate manner., • Perform routine cycle counts and frequent stock audits to maintain accurate inventory records., • Identify inventory discrepancies and investigate root causes., • Coordinate with internal teams such as purchasing, warehouse, and sales to resolve inventory issues., • Monitor inventory trends and flag shortages, overstock situations, and other anomalies., • Prepare clear and concise inventory reports for management review., • Maintain organized storage systems to support efficient material handling and retrieval., • Follow company procedures and safety standards in all inventory-related activities. Essential Skills • Proven experience in inventory control and inventory audit activities., • Hands-on experience with inventory management software or systems., • Ability to work with inventory systems using tools such as Excel or ERP platforms., • Strong data entry skills with a focus on accuracy and completeness., • Excellent attention to detail when verifying shipments and updating inventory records., • Experience working with electronic components, including experience gained in the automotive industry., • Ability to track inbound and outbound materials and maintain real-time inventory updates., • Skill in monitoring inventory trends and identifying shortages or overstock conditions. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting and inventory tools is a plus., • Familiarity with handling and storing electronic components., • Ability to collaborate effectively with purchasing, warehouse, and sales teams., • Strong organizational skills to maintain orderly storage and inventory systems., • Comfort preparing and presenting inventory-related reports for management. Work Environment This position is fully onsite and involves working closely with warehouse, purchasing, and sales teams in a hands-on inventory environment. You will spend significant time in storage and stock areas receiving materials, conducting cycle counts, and auditing inventory. The workplace follows established company procedures and safety standards, and supports a culture of growth and continuous improvement as new products are introduced and the business expands. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fair Lawn, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.23 - $26.44/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
