About the Role: The Cloud Platform Engineer is accountable for the day-to-day health, evolution, and governance of JSX’s cloud infrastructure, primarily within Azure, with limited AWS support. This role independently makes operational platform decisions and partners with leadership on larger architectural initiatives. You will help evolve JSX’s cloud platform maturity, reliability standards, and disaster recovery posture while supporting networking, cybersecurity, application, and IT service management teams. This role is based at JSX Headquarters in Dallas, TX and is required to be in-office 4 days/week. A Day in the Life: Your day will be hands-on and strategic, focused on strengthening reliability, scalability, and governance across JSX’s cloud platforms. Additional responsibilities include: • Managing and evolving Azure cloud infrastructure while supporting limited AWS environments and integrations., • Designing and maintaining highly available, resilient, and secure cloud environments., • Supporting containerized workloads using Docker and assisting with orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes, AKS, or EKS., • Owning infrastructure lifecycle activities including build, enhancement, optimization, and responsible decommissioning., • Implementing and maintaining Terraform-based Infrastructure as Code to promote repeatable, version-controlled deployments., • Integrating infrastructure provisioning into CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub to drive automation., • Monitoring system performance, tuning alerting, and improving observability and operational readiness., • Participating in incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis efforts., • Designing and maintaining backup strategies, recovery procedures, and disaster recovery capabilities., • Monitoring cloud usage and spend, identifying cost optimization opportunities, and supporting budgeting decisions., • Applying secure cloud configuration standards and integrating identity and access management systems., • Partnering with networking teams to support hybrid connectivity, VPNs, routing, and traffic flow analysis., • Collaborating with development and application teams to onboard services and improve deployment patterns., • Maintaining architectural documentation, diagrams, solution designs, and operational runbooks., • Platform Ownership: Drive the health and evolution of JSX’s cloud environments., • Architectural Influence: Shape platform standards, automation strategy, and governance maturity., • Cross-Functional Impact: Partner across infrastructure, cybersecurity, development, and operations. We’re looking for someone who is: • Reliability-Focused: You prioritize uptime, resilience, and operational stability., • Security-Conscious: You apply secure-by-design principles in every solution., • Technically Deep: You troubleshoot complex hybrid and cloud challenges confidently., • Cost-Aware: You balance scalability, performance, and financial efficiency., • Collaborative: You communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders., • 5+ years of infrastructure engineering experience., • 3+ years supporting production cloud environments (Azure strongly preferred)., • Hands-on experience supporting systems with uptime and reliability expectations., • Experience integrating infrastructure with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps or GitHub., • Experience supporting distributed or multi-site environments., • Experience participating in on-call or incident response rotations., • Exposure to cloud cost management or FinOps concepts., • Experience with containerization technologies (Docker) and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, AKS, or EKS)., • Strong experience with Azure services including compute, networking, storage, and identity., • Working knowledge of AWS services and concepts., • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals including routing, IP addressing, VPNs, and hybrid cloud traffic flow., • Experience with monitoring and alerting tools and operational best practices., • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills., • Azure certifications (Associate or Professional) preferred. Compensation is $120,000 - $130,000/annually.
