ABOUT THIS POSITION The Sustainable and Healthy Buildings Coordinator position supports the delivery of projects and is responsible for executing assigned tasks efficiently, proactively asking clarifying questions, communicating clearly, and taking responsibility for the quality of the work executed. The Coordinator completes and manages tasks as assigned by team members to deliver work to clients within scope, on-budget, on-schedule, and in the Brightworks way. The Coordinator collaborates with internal team members to support the firm’s practice development through acquiring technical expertise, collaborating on firm innovation, and matching industry leadership in sustainability with client needs. Essential Duties * Support the preparation of documentation for green building certifications. Manage the upload of documentation to online portals. * Review documentation provided by external team members for completeness, clarity and quality and provide feedback internally that can be shared with external team. * Support regular LEED Contractor check-in calls. Compile meeting minutes and track ongoing documentation by others. * Assist in materials research and specification reviews. * Complete submittal reviews during construction phase to determine whether selected products meet the project's sustainability requirements as outlined in the specifications. * Perform analyses to evaluate project performance (e.g. indoor water use) against third-party standard sustainability metrics. * Miscellaneous research and tool development as directed. QUALIFICATIONS Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities * Proactive communication, personal time management, organization, working with several different Consultants and above. * Knowledge and competency using project delivery software (Bluebeam, LEED Online, etc.). * Basic knowledge and competency reading drawings and specs, product documentation (SDS, product certifications). Education & Experience Required * A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, e.g., engineering, architecture, construction management, environmental science, sustainability, planning, or related disciplines. Relevant coursework or internships in sustainability, green building, or project management. * 0–2 years of experience in sustainability, consulting, construction, or related fields (internships, coursework, or volunteer work count). Familiarity with LEED, green building standards, or sustainability concepts. * In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, any combination of education, volunteer work, and professional experience that demonstrates the skills and qualifications needed for this role. Eligibility At this time, we are only considering candidates who are eligible to work in the United States without the need for company sponsorship now or in the future. JOB DETAILS Classification: Full-time, non-exempt Compensation: The hourly rate range for this position in Portland, Oregon is $31.68 - $35.08. Starting pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, external market value, internal pay equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. Starting pay offers will typically be made in the bottom half of the listed range. In compliance with Equal Pay for Equal Work Acts, a potential new employee’s salary history will not be used in compensation decisions. Location: The preferred location for this position is Brightworks’ headquarters office in the Pearl District in Portland, OR. Brightworks’ offices in Seattle, Los Angeles, Oakland, or New York City may be considered. Office Schedule: Brightworks offers hybrid work schedules of 3 office days and 2 work-from-home days per week. This position is not eligible to work fully remote.
