The Buyer II will be responsible for delivery of good and service to support business operation needs with a focus on continuous improvement, and process control while following ISO procedure. The Buyer II will ensure that all demands are purchased at a reasonable cost, within budget, and delivered on time. Additionally, the Buyer II will liaise with suppliers and negotiate cost while maintaining positive relationships to secure favorable pricing and terms. The Buyer II will also monitor supplier performance On Time Delivery (OTD), ensuring that the good meet required specifications. Role and Responsibilities • Review and process assigned purchasing releases as per requirements, • Analyze purchase request for volume, price, and quantity, • Ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of goods, • Prepare and issue purchase orders for items, including materials needed for Work Orders, electrical/mechanical components, outsourced services for the After Market (AM), manufacturing consumables, and MRO, • Expedite material based on jobs and urgency, • Monitor and analyze purchase records, trends, to determine how much inventory is needed, • Control stock levels based on forecasts, analysis, Min/Max, ROP (Reordering Point) numbers, and min/max reports, • Organize an efficient inventory program with optimization of stock levels, • Manage material rejected by QA and provide a fast resolution, • Negotiate favorable terms, including pricing, lead times, payment terms on purchases. Support negotiation of long-term agreements with key suppliers, • Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely delivery of goods, • Update and maintain purchasing records and data, • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or equivalent experience, • 5+ years of progressive roles within supply chain or purchasing team, • Experience with motors, reducers, carbon and stainless steel, metals, castings, rubber, plastics, valves and fittings, outside fabrication, and vendor sourcing, • Be mechanically inclined and able to read engineering drawings, • Experience working within an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system required (Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred), • Excellent Microsoft Suite skills (Outlook and Excel), • Ability to negotiate with vendors and third parties, • Strong organizational and communication attributes, • Experience in a project-based manufacturing environment
