Job DescriptionJob Title: Carpenter ApprenticeJob Description As a Carpenter Apprentice, you support skilled carpenters with a wide range of construction and carpentry tasks while learning the trade through hands-on experience. You assist with measuring, cutting, and assembling materials, installing basic structures, and maintaining a safe, organized job site. This role offers the opportunity to develop practical skills in framing, finish work, and tool use while contributing to high-quality projects and meeting project timelines. Responsibilities • Assist skilled carpenters with daily construction and carpentry tasks on residential or commercial projects., • Measure, cut, and assemble wood and other materials under supervision, following project specifications., • Install basic structures such as framing, doors, trim, cabinetry, and fixtures with attention to detail and quality., • Safely operate hand tools and power tools, ensuring proper use, care, and storage of equipment., • Read and follow basic drawings, plans, or written and verbal instructions to complete assigned tasks., • Learn and apply proper construction methods and carpentry techniques as guided by experienced team members., • Perform finish carpentry tasks such as installing trim and caulking to achieve clean, professional results., • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site, including regular debris removal and material organization., • Load, unload, and transport materials, tools, and equipment as needed to support project progress., • Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines to reduce risk and promote a safe work environment., • Support team members to meet project timelines and quality standards through reliable, consistent effort., • Communicate clearly with supervisors and coworkers, asking questions when needed and following instructions carefully.Essential Skills, • Basic knowledge of hand tools or a strong willingness to learn proper tool use., • Ability to accurately use a tape measure and perform basic measurements and layout., • Foundational understanding or interest in construction, carpentry, framing, and finish carpentry., • Capability to safely operate hand tools and power tools under supervision., • Ability to read and follow basic drawings, plans, or instructions., • Strong work ethic with a commitment to following directions and completing tasks safely and efficiently., • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform sustained physical labor throughout the workday., • Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions., • Reliable transportation to and from job sites and a record of consistent attendance., • Positive attitude, dependability, and eagerness to learn a skilled trade and grow in the role.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience in construction, carpentry, framing, or finish carpentry is an asset but not required., • Familiarity with using a tape measure, hand tools, and basic installation techniques such as caulking., • Comfort working as part of a team, supporting more experienced carpenters and tradespeople., • Willingness to take direction, accept feedback, and continuously improve skills., • Interest in building a long-term career in the construction and carpentry field.Why Work Here? Work is performed in a safety-focused setting that follows established procedures and OSHA guidelines, with an expectation of maintaining a clean, organized job site and wearing appropriate work attire suitable for construction activities. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, KS. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
