Job Details Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Family Law Attorney (Senior Associate / Contract Partner) to join a dynamic, high-volume family law practice. The successful candidate will manage their own caseload (approximately 30–40 cases), handle trials (including contested divorce trials), and provide high-quality, client-focused representation in all areas of family law. A substantial portion of your practice (at least 50%) will be devoted to family law matters. Key Responsibilities • Represent clients in all aspects of family law: divorce, alimony, child custody, child support, division of assets, spousal support, prenuptial/postnuptial agreements, domestic violence/ restraining orders, and related matters., • Manage a busy caseload of approximately 30–40 cases — including both short-term and long-term matters., • Prepare pleadings, motions, discovery, financial affidavits, and all relevant documentation., • Conduct depositions, hearings, mediations, and trial preparation., • Litigate contested divorce and family law trials in court; try cases to verdict when necessary., • Counsel clients through emotionally complex and high-stakes matters with empathy, discretion, and professionalism., • Work collaboratively with support staff, paralegals, and other attorneys to ensure smooth case management and client service., • Maintain timely communication with clients, opposing counsel, and the court., • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and admission to the relevant state Bar., • Minimum of 7 years of post-bar experience practicing family law — with a substantial portion of that time devoted to matrimonial, divorce, and family-law litigation., • Proven trial experience in contested divorce or family law matters (must have handled at least one divorce trial from start to finish)., • Strong ability to manage a heavy caseload (30–40 matters) while maintaining high standards of client service and legal acumen., • Demonstrated experience handling high-stakes family law cases, including complex asset division, spousal support, custody disputes, and related issues., • Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills., • Strong interpersonal skills, emotional maturity, and ability to counsel clients through difficult and sensitive situations., • Excellent time management, organizational ability, and capacity to work independently., • Experience with high-net-worth or complex-asset divorces., • Experience with mediation, collaborative divorce, or alternative dispute resolution., • Familiarity with domestic violence, restraining orders, and child-custody/parenting time litigation., • Competitive compensation ($100,000–$150,000, depending on experience and caseload)., • Opportunity to manage substantial caseload and develop trial-level experience., • Independence and autonomy: handle your own files and make strategic decisions., • A dynamic, family-law–only environment: work with colleagues dedicated solely to divorce and domestic relations matters., • Supportive infrastructure and experienced colleagues to collaborate with on complex cases.
