SUMMARY The Principal Data Analyst is responsible for transforming operational, financial, and commercial data into actionable insights that drive profitable growth, operational efficiency, and disciplined decision-making across the site. This role serves as a core analytics partner to the Finance, Procurement, and Master Data functions, integrating data from SAP, MES, LIMS, planning, and other enterprise systems to deliver product- and program-level profitability, capacity visibility, yield performance, and early warning indicators. Working in close partnership with the Associate Director of Business Intelligence, this position supports the implementation and sustainment of data governance, master data integrity, and standardized reporting. The role ensures leadership receives timely, accurate, and decision-ready insights that clearly connect volume, yield, cost, pricing, capital, and cash to overall business performance. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Product Profitability & Financial Analytics • Build and maintain analytics that link:, • Volume (batch - demand, budget, forecast, actuals), • Yield and scrap, • Standard vs. Actual cost, • Pricing and contract terms, • Working capital and inventory, • Create visibility on contribution margin and EBITDA by product, customer, and product lifecycle stage (Development vs. Commercial), • Support Product Management and Finance with pricing analytics and scenario modeling, • Create dashboards for:, • Batch cycle time, • Yield variance and loss analysis, • Throughput by synthesis/purification capacity, • Schedule adherence, • Right-first-time/deviation impact, • Develop leading indicators for:, • Demand volatility, • Yield deterioration, • Cost inflation, • Capacity constraints, • Revenue risk, • Support SIOP processes with data models and scenario analysis, • Integrate data across:, • SAP (ECC/S4), • MES, • LIMS, • Planning Systems, • Quality Systems, • Procurement and inventory platforms, • Ensure alignment between:, • BOM and routing vs. actual consumption, • Production orders vs. financial postings, • Master data and reporting hierarchies. Executive Reporting & Decision Support • Design and maintain executive dashboards for Site Leadership:, • Revenue and margin performance, • Cost drivers, • Capacity and backlog, • Working Capital, • Strategic Projects tracking, • Provide ad hoc analysis to support:, • Capital investment decisions, • Customer negotiations LEADERSHIP & BUDGET RESPONSIBILITIES Provides guidance and leadership where appropriate. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE • Bachelor’s Degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related field, • Master’s Degree or MBA preferred, • 5 years in Business Analytics, • Experience in Pharma, Biotech, or CDMO Manufacturing strongly preferred LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
