Job Description Full-Time Non - Exempt Hours: 8:00am - 4:30pm Mondays to Fridays Pay range: $20.00 - $25.00 Reports to: Phone Queue Lead Location: Hybrid; requires On-Site training and must be able to drive back to Louisville when needed. You will have to play with your settings to read some parts of Intergy., • Mac with Sequoia OS or newer. Position Summary: Gastroenterology of the Rockies is a rapidly growing Gastroenterology practice in Boulder County and the greater Denver Metro area with eight office locations and five Ambulatory Surgery Centers. Performs standard Medical Assistant duties in a remote setting, to include greeting patients and verifying HIPAA via phone, verifying appointment details, reviewing normal results with patients as well as supporting the medical provider and nursing staff as required. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • In all encounters, acts as the patient’s advocate to ensure optimum patient satisfaction with the experience and care they receive. Always communicates in a non-judgmental and non-discriminatory manner that preserves the patient’s rights and dignity., • Take incoming calls from patients to review the results of tests, confirm appointments, being proficient in all prep instructions supported by the clinic, or other appropriate information in a given specific time frame., • Resend lab/imaging order to facilities if patient is waiting on-site., • Able to educate patients about GI specific conditions, tests and medications using language, terms, and methods that the patient can easily understand. Ensures that patients are provided with appropriate written or verbal information. Asks questions and seeks clarification from providers and RNs when appropriate., • Document all patient interactions in the appropriate system in a timely and accurate manner and verify that all documentation is complete, concise, and accurately reflects the complete situation and the care that was given., • Able to prioritize tasks appropriately. All electronic charting is complete, accurate and professional., • Participates in staff meetings. Assists in developing ways to meet department goals in a more effective and efficient manner and is an active part of the implementation of new processes and procedures., • Serves as a team player to ensure center optimization and efficiency., • Performs other tasks, projects and assignments as requested by management. Minimum Qualifications: • Graduate of a certified Medical Assistant Program, Certified Nursing Assistant Program, Emergency Medical Technician Program, OR college graduate with science major. High School Diploma required., • Experience in a medical office preferred, • Excellent verbal and written communications skills., • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with patients, medical providers, and other staff members. Supports teamwork and contributes to achieving company goals., • Intermediate computer skills, with experience in medical software (Intergy preferred). Physical Demands and Work Environment: • Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Must have the ability to walk short distances., • Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
