Your role: The Factory Manager oversees all daily operations at the Sweet Cow production facility. This role ensures that our ice cream and products are produced to the highest standards of quality, consistency, and safety while fostering a positive, team-focused environment that reflects Sweet Cows values. The Factory Manager leads the production team, manages scheduling, ensures compliance with food safety regulations, and partners with shop leadership to meet demand across all locations and mobile units. As this is a brand-new role in a brand-new facility, the Factory Manager will play a key part in building systems and processes from the ground up. This includes creating, testing, and refining procedures, adapting as we grow, and learning alongside the team to establish a strong foundation for long-term success. Your Contribution and Responsibilities: Execution • Oversee and execute ice cream and product production, ensuring consistency in recipes, yields, and standards., • Implement, and maintain warehouse logistics and operations., • Execute Factory systems, standards and procedures., • Maintain detailed production records, including batch logs, yields, and inventory usage., • Use established systems, tools, data, and procedures to procure company needs in the most efficient and financially responsible way., • Maintain optimal product and supply levels by accurately tracking inventory, ordering raw materials, packaging, and supplies, and managing transfers as needed., • Ensure facility cleanliness, sanitation, and preventive maintenance schedules., • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal food safety regulations., • Anticipate needs, solve problems quickly, and make sound decisions that support company goals., • Partner with the COO on inspections, audits, and compliance reporting., • Ensure all business licenses, permits, and certifications are obtained, current, and displayed as required., • Navigate ambiguity, embrace and lead change, and make intentional and strategic decisions., • Ensure undistracted, safe, and courteous operation of company/facility equipment and vehicles., • Coach and uphold Sweet Cows standard of cleanliness across all areas of operations. Build Effective Teams • Hire, train, and coach production staff to create a capable, motivated, and efficient team., • Effectively onboard and execute company training programs to ensure retention and minimize employee turnover., • Provide consistent feedback, coaching, and recognition to drive engagement and retention., • Schedule staff to align with production demands and ensure coverage for peak periods., • Foster a growth-oriented environment through development, accountability, and teamwork., • Lead through delegation and team empowerment. Focus on Customers and Community • Ensure production quality that delivers an outstanding customer experience., • Protect and enhance Sweet Cows reputation through consistent, safe, and reliable product execution., • Support the shops and MooMobiles with timely, accurate deliveries., • Embrace customer and shop feedback to improve products and processes., • Represent Sweet Cow values within the community by maintaining integrity and pride in everything produced. Communicate with Impact • Uphold established standards and norms to create and foster a team culture of accountability, purpose, and pride around meeting performance expectations., • Use open and direct communication with teams and shop leaders., • Communicate with precision and influence across various communication channels articulating knowledge and desired outcomes with clarity & positivity., • Create and present expenditure summaries and regular status reports to the leadership team., • Clearly communicate production schedules, delivery timelines, and special runs., • Provide accurate and timely updates to the leadership team on production, quality, and performance., • Foster an environment of teamwork and trust through consistent, respectful communication. Requirements • High school diploma or GED required; degree in Food Science, Manufacturing, or related field preferred., • 3+ years in food manufacturing, production management, or commercial kitchen leadership., • Strong understanding of food safety standards and compliance requirements., • Recipe comprehension, execution and writing skills - technical writing experience is ideal., • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and process-driven., • Experience delegating and coordinating the tasks of multiple employees., • Adherence to the written schedule with consistent punctuality., • Weekly availability Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm, • Maintain a weekly schedule of 42-44 hours., • Will require Forklift Certification, • Ability to perform all physical requirements of the role throughout the entirety of the scheduled shift., • Impeccable organization, planning, and execution skills., • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets., • Experience with Restaurant365 is preferred but not required., • Digitally fluent, with the ability to learn new systems quickly, troubleshoot common issues, and use data to drive informed decisions., • Spotless driving record., • Applicants are subject to a background check.
